Poured from a bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter. The pour is nearly black with a mammoth chunky light tan head and outstanding retention. On the nose I'm getting some roasted notes and some milk chocolate, but it's incredibly faint
Full body, but a thin mouthfeel to this stout. The taste is slightly sweet on the front of the palate with a nice little milky, creamy note that vanishes far too quickly on the watery mouthfeel. You definitely get some of the chocolate, but it combines with the roasted malt and hop flavors in a rather unpleasant way. The flavor is very light and a little bitter.
This beer was a bit of a disappointment. Sweet stouts can be really, really good and are often under-appreciated. Sadly, I thought this one was about average. Not good, not bad, just average. Anyone who has access to this probably has access to Duck Rabbit also, which I believe is far superior. My bottle may have been a little old, so I may have to try this again when it's fresh.
