Received as an extra in a recent trade, but I forget from whom. Forgotten trade partner, this one's for you.
A: Pours a very opaque black. What very little head there is has a khaki color and fades very quickly. A quick swirl reawakens a dark ring, but not for long.
S: Sweet chocolate, primarily. Some roasty notes and chocolate bitterness, but definitely secondary.
T: Sweet and surprisingly light. Chocolate is definitely present as advertised. Very little in the way of balancing bitterness and no alcohol heat makes me want to drink this one quickly; think chocolate milk. A fairly one dimensional flavor, but I feel like it accomplished the Chocolate Milk goal of this beer.
M: The lactose definitely smooths this one out and I think the lower carbonation works well here. A relatively refreshing stout. Sweetness disappears to quickly to be cloying and the stout is thin enough to prevent it from coating the mouth/tongue at all.
D: Very high. This is such a change from many of the high ABV American stouts in a very good way--easy drinking, refreshing and tasty.
