Looks great from the dark brown bottle. I love love love chocolate! Not bitter. Creamy feel in the mouth but not overwhelming creaminess. Goes down easy even after it warms up and is no longer ice cold. No nasty, stale after taste that lingers on and on and on. In the moment beer. Smell? Smells heavenly! They should make a Moo Hoo spray!

Outstanding to find this on tap at Whole Foods in Devon. Pours very dark brown with just a little head. Smell is very sweet. This is the first beer that I've ever had that made me nostalgic for something in my childhood reminding me of the cafeteria's chocolate milk with just a little bit of carbonation added on (my parents used to pour a little bit of soda into plain milk to get me do drink it). No bitterness at all like some other chocolate stouts.

Thanks to Jason (hopsbreath) for this one!!!

Appearence- Black with a small brown head. Good lacing slides down the sides of the glass with every sip.

Smell- Silky chocolate aroma with a nice bit of hops and alcohol to back it up.

Taste- Damn, this is good! Milk chocolate truffle with an alcohol center.

Mouth feel- Near perfect mouth feel. Silky but not syrupy.

Drinkability- This is an easy one. It would be way too easy for me to drink a 6er or more of this and not care about the morning after.

Milk stouts are one of my favorite styles. This, I think, is the best I have had (sorry Duck-Rabbit).

Sweet roasted malt and chocolate in the nose hint at the delights you'll be tasting. The big body is leggy on a stout glass, leaving seeping oily trails behind it. The tasted is an uncommon compliment of chocolate, dark malts, and unfermented sugars.

Bought locally in Tampa. 12 ox. bottle paid $2.

A- Really dark. Not much light getting through this.

S- Very nice, caramel and Malts with a nice chocolate/vanilla scent.

T- Wow, really wonderful. Nice and smooth, no bite. Perfectly carbonated. Well done!

M- Could be a little thicker for a milk stout but the taste more than makes up for it.

D- I could drink several more of these. I'll be there tomorrow to buy a 6 pack which will save me a buck because they are $10.99 for a sixer.

It's a 2010 Release so they are gone soon. Hopefully to return someday soon.

This was a 12 oz bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours a dark dark brown that is almost an opaque black with light lacing. It smells of warm malts and faint whiffs of chocolate. The taste is amazingly chocolate with a great finish. It ha a full body and great carbonation. I would highly recommend.

A- Black as black can get, little bit of head that fades pretty fast

S- wow coffee and chocolate, nice roasted malt aroma mixed in as well,

T- very good quality of chocolate used in this one, very nice balance of sweetness with some coffee and some vanilla mixed in there as well, chocolate beer, who would have ever thought.

M- A very smooth and carb feel to it. I found it much nicer to drink when nice a cold, some may feel warmer is the way to enjoy.

O- A very nice offering from Terrapin will be searching this one out again.

This beer pours a black color, with a small tan head. The smell is very strongly chocolate. The taste however is much more mellow. There is a nice choclate milk like flavor, but its not overpowering, and then a bit of a bitterness to finish. Nice amount of carbonation, and very easy to drink. Overall a great choclate beer, so far the best one I had.

Wow. Awesome brew indeed. Seems just as enjoyable as Depth Charge.
Appearance is dark coffee with a tan head that fades to a thin cap.
Smell is mild, sweet dark malts if anything at all.
Taste is awesome, sweet but smooth and silky. Bold semi sweet chocolate, dark toffee, mocha, subtle dark fruit.
Silky mouthfeel with a watery finish. Medium low carbo but perfect.

This is a milk stout worth pursuing.

A: Pitch black coffee color like basically all stouts, had a very small darker colored head with very little lacing.

S: The smell of this beer is amazing strong chocolate milk smell with a slight coffee finish

T: The taste follows the smell perfectly, strong chocolate taste with slight bit of coffee with a very smooth finish with a very very light hop presence.

M: Nice full bodied creamy mouth feel, not quite as "thick" as some but nice none the less.

O: This is by far one of my favorite stouts to date would recommend to anybody.

This beer was expensive for a cask pour, but it was worth it.

The beer is a deep black

The smell is vanilla, chocolate, and no sour at all

The taste is phenomenal. Smooth, chocolate, not heavey, and the over alchohal taste is not there

The mouthfeel is good

This beer was great on cask, if you have a chance to get it as a cask pour pay the $8

Poured into a chalice cup at Draft in Raleigh, NC.
A: Dark and opaque, black and unable to see light through it, as it should be for a milk stout. Very little carbonation and almost no lacing.
S: Dark chocolaty goodness, almost candy like in it's aroma. Very little or no hop profile. Mostly malt and chocolate.
T: All chocolate, with a slight bitterness that fades into sweetness. Satisfying if you have a sweet tooth, what you would expect from a chocolate stout that has a name that sounds like Yoo-Hoo.
M: Velvety and smooth, full bodied and viscous. Excellent.
O: Sweet dessert like beer that fulfills expectations that the name creates. Went surprisingly well with the hangover tots that we ordered. The rich fullness likely goes well with many fatty foods. Highly recommended.

A--Pitch black with a light caramel head that vanishes quickly and leaves not a trace.
S--Nose is straight up malty sweet milk chocolate. If I had to simplify it, I would say it smells sort of like Yoohoo and Whoppers blended with a little black coffee.
T--Taste follows the nose. Chalky, malted milky sweetness is enough to show the backbone, but it doesn't overwhelm. Neither does the mocha hoppiness, which begins half way through and eases into the finish. Suggestions of roasted pecans and marshmallows. Delicious. Very straightforward beer....it doesn't try to be crazy complex and it's not. It is a simple milk stout that is executed very well.
M--Milky smooth, viscous.
D--A mild enough stout to drink several and I want to.
Overall, if beer and chocolate milk had a love child, this would be it. I love it.

12 oz bottle poured into a Terrapin pint glass. Purchased from Total Wine Perimeter in Dunwoody, GA.

A - Looks almost like a deep shade of red when I was pouring it into my glass (might have been because of the light), but it's a deep shade of brown with an extremely small amount of tan head.

S - A sweet, cocoa aroma. I was expecting a little more from the smell with it being a milk stout, but it seemed fairly one dimensional.

T - Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. I want to describe it as having great balance, but I definitely tasted more chocolate than the "milk stout" part.

M - Smooth is the word that comes to mind. Malty and slightly creamy.

D - Incredibly so. I wanted another one, but I had to show restraint. I'm glad I bought two six packs. Looking forward to this beer every winter season if Terrapin continues to brew it.

A: Pours opaquely into my pint, forming a frothy, mocha colored head. Retention is respectable.

S: Bouquet is shy, but caramel, brown sugar, and chocolate are noticeable.

T: Sweet, but not cloyingly so, with heavy doses of molasses and cream. This is accented by chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Delightful!

M: Full body, creamy mouthfeel, and little carbonation. The feel perfectly jives with the flavor.

D: A little sweet to be a session beer, but it is what it is. This brew would pair great with cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, or creme brulee. It is definitely a dessert-type brew. This is a must try for any milk stout fans.

Smells of sweet lactose and chocolate, sweet dark malts, not a lot of roast.

Taste is wonderful, strong chocolate but not overpowering, sweet but not cloying, the flavors are very well balanced and integrated. Would be an exaggeration to say this actually tastes like chocolate milk, but there is some similarity.

The mouthfeel is amazing, extremely smooth and creamy. This is one of the most drinkable stouts I've ever had, I could easily session this and I usually have trouble drinking stouts quickly.

Fantastic beer, one of my favorite non-imperial stouts. I drink this multiple times a week during the winter when it's on shelves.

Been looking forward to this one since I saw the approval of the label; glad it is in 12oz format.

Medium full bodied, creamy and milky mouth feel, great carbonation.
Nice roasted malt presence with solid notes of milk chocolate. A hint of grains throughout with an incredibly milkiness; you can actually taste the lactic sugar!
Finishes with a hint of smoke and an incredible lingering milkiness.

Overall; nailed it with the name and description of this beer.
It is solid & simple & exactly what they said it would be!

Purchased the last 6-pack from a local beer shop in Orlando. Poured into a nonic pint glass at around 52ºF. Poured a dark black/brown with a finger mocha head. Lacing resembles chocolate milk and appears extremely frothy.

At first smell, it wasn't the most appealing that I've smelt. You can smell hints of espresso, chocolate, and something else I can't quite put my finger on.

Very smokey! At first taste it was almost like a burnt chocolate with caramel. The espresso and creaminess sticks around after you swallow the beer. It's viscosity isn't the thickest beer I've tried, but far from the thinnest.

I could drink these badboys all night long (if they weren't full of so much sugar), this is by far one of the best stouts that I've ever had. It's not too pungent, and it's not too filling. Terrapin did this beer right, I'm going to have to find more of these and hang on to them!

Another great beer from Terrapin. Thankful to live in the southeast!

A - Pours pitch black with a one finger light brown head that eventually recedes to a ring around my glass. Leaves some patchy lacing around the sides.

S - Smell is pretty muted unfortunately. But what I can pick up is some sweet chocolate and a hint of roasted malts.

T - This could be the best tasting milk stout I've had. Nice and sweet with a great chocolate milk flavor throughout. Some roasty malts and some coffee notes are also present. Leaves a fantastic chocolate milk taste in the mouth.

M - Medium-bodied with just the right amount of carbonation. Nice.

D - Very drinkable for a stout. No alcohol presence at all for me.

A great beer, I wish the guys at Terrapin would make it year round. As the label says, it's utterly delicious!

Growler fill!!

A: Dark, but not black, an aggressive pour will give a decent head that doesn't stick around long. Looks good enough with a hard pour with a mocha/khaki head, really good looking!

S: Chocolate... Chocolate, and... Chocolate. Roasty malts in there, maybe a hint of vanilla laden coffee in there, but mostly just a great chocolate smell to it. I REALLY like the smell here. REALLY, REALLY good smelling beer.

T: Chocolate upfront, in the middle and in the ass end. The roasted flavors really come out. Sweet at the start and finishes rather dry, bitter sweet chocolate flavor to it.

M: Medium body, mild carbonation to it. It feels okay but quickly thins and gets dry. Not awesome, but nothing really off about it at all. Easy drinker, thats for sure.

O: Good beer. I local to it, so there's plenty to go around. Usually end up killing around 4-5 of the 4 packs during the seasonal release of it, as well as a few growler fills. Great milk stout and it's easy to drink. Nothing off the wall, but safe bet if you want a really good milk stout!

12 oz. Bottle poured into tulip glass

This beer has a great label with the terrapin in the silly cow suit but he is all dressed to take you on a malty chocolate Ride!

Pours a huge foamy almost frothy head like steamed milk. Body is dark and opaque. Real bigtime chocolate aroma with sweetness in the nose a touch of toffee too. Taste and feel are so smooth and rich wave after wave of lactose infused chocolate and roasted malts you dont want it to end. At the end of the beer a nice coffee flavor develops. One of my favorites cant get enough of it. Nearly perfectly executed

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Motor oil black. Very thin milk-chocolate head

S: Very chocolatey, roasted coffee. The aroma is very sweet and incredibly enjoyable.

T: Not as sweet as I thought, especially with the fact it's sweet milk stout. The coffee complements the dark chocolate perfectly.

M: Smooth, creamy and very light for a stout.

Overall: This was better than i thought. I heard it was great, but I was expecting it to be too sweet for my taste. I was very wrong about that. It's a very light stout, almost like Guinness in texture. But the rich, bold favors make up for its lightness and it becomes a very enjoyable stout. I'm gonna enjoy this four-pack!

Pours a jet black with a grey/tan two finger head that fades quickly with a creamy swirl retaining and thin wea foam walls of lacing.

The aroma is sweet and earthy with milk chocolate, sugar, vanilla, and mild roast flavors.

Very chcolate with cocoa and milk chocolate flavors, nice balance of roasted grain, coffee hints and vanilla notes. Rich and sugary, sweet with a good roast balance and some earthy hops.

Very well balanced. Creamy, smooth, chewy, and thick.

Great body, balance, and sweet flavor without being cloying. Great milk stout.

A: Dark black pour, with a thin light tan head that doesn't last long
