A-black with a little tan head that leave a light lace
S-roast, peanut butter, and Chocolate
T-sweet chocolate, peanut butter, with a nice roasted hop aftertaste that fades back to a chocolate flavor
M- full body, and low carbonation
O-the peanut butter was light and the roasted taste was heavy, and it had some interesting smell and flavor

Appears darkest brown with thin light tan head.

Smells like, you guessed it, peanut butter and chocolate. The pb is more pronounced, and I sense some hops for balance. Candy-like without smelling too artificial.

Taste resembles aroma, with the hops more apparent on the front end. More bittersweet chocolate, especially through the finish.

Mouthfeel is dry and almost chalky. Coupled with the flavor, this one is slow going.

Overall, not a fan. I'm not sure what segment of beer drinkers this is geared toward (I'm guessing those who do not actualy like beer). Still, I get curious, but this one will be the last one. Tick.

A: A very dark brown to black. One finger light tan head. Short lasting and becomes a thin film on top. Okay lacing, but not dreamy looking.

S: Strong peanut butter. Some malt chocolate. Some flaky oatiness. Definitely has a distinct grainy caramel character to it. Sweet overall. Altogether smells like a dark chocolate Reeses.

M: Dry and grainy contributes to slight astringency. Definitely on the thinner body when cool, but warms nicely to become slicker and medium bodied with less effervescent quality.

T: Not as blissful as I would have expected but enjoyable. Bittersweet chocolate, roast character from peanuts. Cola like mid. Peanut butter resides on palate. Tastes as what you would expect. I wonder what artificial flavorings they used. Would be nice with some Asian cuisine I think.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle received as a gift from a non-BA member. Sampled on July 30, 2014.

OK, the label reads "Malt beverage brewed with natural and artificial flavors." Artificial flavors? An automatic turn off for me.

It is an attractive pour I will give it that with its dark brown color and modest little head that fades.

It smells like a malty Reeses Cup.

The body is also quite nice and well into the medium range.

The taste is also like a malty Reese's Cup with a mildly bitter finish. Oh well, 1800+ BA reviews. I can't like them all.

Serving: Bottle
Appearance: Pitch black with no head. Deep dark opaque color.
Smell: Roasty malty peanuts forward, a bit of coffee and a ribbon of chocolate sliding through all of it.
Taste: Peanuts forward, malty chocolate, citrus and pine hops. Hint of woody spice.
Mouthfeel: Moderate to light body, being a stout fancier I would wish this had more of a mouth coat to it but as a porter it is good and rich. Not something I would knock back a 6 pack of but a one of thing to enjoy in an evening.
Overall: Good slow evening sipper. Might cloy if you want to sit and drink a bunch of something.
