A: dark brown with a 1 finger light beige head. appropriate.

S: peanuts, peanut butter, chocolate

T: well ill be damned its actually pretty tasty. tastes like a watered down reeses peanut butter cup with a finish if dark chocolate, if that makes any sense.

M: Light with medium carbonation. nothing remarkable.

O: im enjoying this one more than I expected to. I would probably get this again, though it might be a bit. I got it for the novelty and Terrapin did a great job with what they were trying to do with that.

12 oz bottle poured into a stout glass.

Pours black. Not as much head as I expected and it didn't linger long.

Smells exactly like peanut butter and chocolate. Really good blend of both flavors with peanut butter being more dominant.

Chocolate taste upfront with mild carbonation. Mellows into a rich peanut butter flavor that lingers on the finish.

Good mouthfeel. A little lighter than I was expecting. Not very thick. Easy to drink.

Expect exactly what's on the bottle: chocolate and peanut butter. Good dessert beer.

Poured into a nonic pint glass. The liquid is almost completely black, with some dark brown hints at the edges. The pour kicks up a two-finger tan head that leaves a nice amount of lace. Definitely what I would hope a peanut butter porter would look like!

The aroma definitely has peanut butter! I was worried that there wouldn't be enough, but it's the dominant note here, even before the beer has warmed up at all. I also get some wheat bread, and hints of citrusy hops that suggest jelly... but maybe I'm just getting carried away with peanut butter associations. Either way, this is a great aroma, even if not particularly complex.

The flavor starts off with some milk chocolate, before the peanut butter comes in along with the citrusy hops. The swallow finishes clean, and then the aftertaste is mostly peanut butter, with a little bit of chocolate. The light hop presence is a really nice surprise here, and does a good job balancing the chocolate and peanut butter both bitterness- and flavor-wise.

Mouthfeel is on the thin side, with a moderate amount of carbonation. I feel like it would have been better with a thicker body, but maybe that would have made it too sticky.

Overall, very good, even if it mostly focuses on one note. It feels like kind of a novelty, but of course novelties have their place, and I would definitely recommend this one.
