Poured from a 22 oz brown bomber into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date other than "2012 Citra Hops" on label. Purchased at Market Street Wineshop (Charlottesville, VA) for $6.99.

A: Surprisingly dirty amber with 1-2 fingers of off-white head with decent retention leaving an irregular ring of foamy lacing around the top of the liquid line.

S: Super aroma with a good blend of grapefruit, orange, and lemon citrus, floral notes, and a musky undertone which is a signature for Citra in my mind (nose?). Some pine hops poke through as well. The malt component is way subdued with a light crackery character.

T: The flavor is also pretty citrusy with grapefruit leading the way and with more lemon than orange in the middle to finish. The floral note blend with pine to give a really dry honeysuckle flavor to the finish. There is that same undercurrent of earthy muskiness as well. The maltiness is not at all assertive but lends a light caramel quality. The bitterness is low.

M: The feel is good with relatively low carbonation and a medium body. It is fairly slick and very easy to drink.

O: A good not great fresh hop beer from Terrapin. Definitely worth a try, if not for just the great aroma! (1,201 characters)

22oz brown bomber

Hazed amber, good frothing. Obvious smell of Citra hops, a bit catty with loads of freshly smashed citrus fruit, hint of alcohol and a bit biscuity. Grainy maltiness, crisp and a little slick. A whole lot of hop oil and mild resin flavor. Juicy with a slight catty flavor, bitterness is not strong but the flavor is. Hint of alcohol, wild flower and faint of tropical fruit. Finish very hoppy.

Fresh and extremely hoppy, a great example if you are looking to see what Citra hops taste like. Fun to quaff back. (529 characters)

Pours dark amber with a fluffy off-white head that settles to a nice cap. Great aromas of fresh CItra hops, lots of typical mango, papaya, grapefruit, and peach with a moderately sweet caramel malt profile. Taste is obviously Citra-forward, more tropical hop notes, with a mild bitterness in the finish and nicely balanced malt backbone. Mouthfeel is nice and crisp, with a medium body and ample carbonation. Overall a solid addition to the Terrapin line-up, and probably the best of the 3 So Fresh and So Green, Green versions. (528 characters)

Found some notes from 11/2012...

@ Tasty Beverage

Slightly hazed deep orange color under some creamy froth. Aromas of spruce, graham crackers, and stone fruit. Deeply fruity hop taste, bold tropical flavors, green stickiness, grapefruit, and peaches. Slightly prickly carbonation, not super bitter, medium bodied, and a bit dry. Hoppy goodness. (346 characters)

A; The beer is hazy amber orange in color. It poured with a short off white head. That died down and left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Moderate to string aromas of fresh hops stand out-citrusy hops seem to stand out in particular.
T: There are flavors of citrus hops along with some hints of pine resin and a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. No crispness is detectable.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and packs in lots of fresh hop flavors. (553 characters)
