Deep cooper color, bordering on light brown, and the head was a bit small, being one to two fingers thick. The smell was an aromatic mix of earthy and citric smells with whiff of resinousness. The smell reminded most of ripening mangoes on beds of straw, and transported me back to summers in Mumbai. The taste was very disappointing after that inviting burst of smells. For some reason, there was too little hop flavor, bitter or otherwise, left in the taste. There was a touch of citrus, and a hint of pine, but otherwise the taste was very dull compared to the smell. There was some toasted rye flavors coming through, but I was hoping for a Mosaic hop showcase here, and I didn’t get one. The mouthfeel was soft, and medium thick, and the finish was smooth, and clean. I was hoping for more.
I tried another bomber again, and this one seems better than what I remember the beer to be. There is a lot more tropical fruit in the flavor, and the hops don't appear quite as subdued as before. There is also an excellent spicy note characteristic of rye. I am going to up the scores accordingly.

I purchased this at Wegman's enjoyed chilled from the 12oz in a willybecker.
The color is deep copper bordering on bronze with crimson hue and thick tan head with fine bead and spotty lace sticks. The smell is fruity, herbal and slightly sweet with a nice rye maltiness in the aroma with slight citrus orange-like scent with light toast. The feel is moderately carbonated with medium body and slight sweetness with a hop bitterness that starts low and builds but does not take away from the balance of malt with mild alcohol and semi-sweet finish.
The taste is good with nice malt presence which is more toasted than sweet with slight hint of caramel and mild citrus from the hops with a more herbal flavor and mild spice aspect. The flavor is good with malt supporting the mild orange flavor in the hops with a smooth yeast adding to the hops which are lightly piney toward the finish which has a mild alcohol warmth yet is more dry than sweet. Overall I like this but expected more from the Mosaic since the beer is named for it, but I understand it is a single hop and perhaps it might work better in a blend. I like the full malt and would not hesitate to try this on draft or purchase it again.
