On tap at Fathead's Southside. Color was a nice russet, mouthfeel clean, with a real clean hippiness and little malt, nice nose. just the lightest hint of rye. Clear and nice presentation. Served in a standard pint glass. Alcohol low enough to not knock your socks off. Will have again!

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a semi-hazy copper color. The head's about a finger high, with a pale khaki shade. It's also wonderfully creamy, though retention isn't fantastic. Good lacing is left behind, though.

S: Immediately, I pick up hints of grapefruit and berry from the hops. The malt backbone is fairly evident with its healthy dose of toffee, caramel, and rye. Aromatically, it's straight forward, but does a good job of showing off the rye, the Mosaic hops, and the red. Whatever that means.

T: It opens pretty malty, with toffee and rye notes intermingling with some piny dankness. I'm not getting much grapefruit, but there is a subtle suggestion of berries near the back end. Similar to the nose, it doesn't really blow me away, but the balance is nice and the Mosaic usage is fairly evident.

M: Good crispness on the feel, and good body, too. Maybe a bit too much body for me, but that's nitpicking. It goes down - if not quite as effortlessly as I like - pretty easily. Carbonation is gentle.

O: Subjectively, I'm not a fan of this style. Having said that, this IS a good example of a style I'm not particularly fond of. It's well balanced and shows off its advertised components well.

Terrapin Mosaic
Poured this into a Sam Adams pint glass. The body has a dark whiskey ruby hue to it, topped off with a frothy beige head that could probably hold on for week, perhaps longer.
The aroma leaps up into your honker and explodes with spicy hops, citrus, caramel, tropical fruit, and slightly burnt sugar cookies.
The flavor sizzles with a rye peppery spice, balanced with a sweet malt punch that smooths it all out nice and easy.
The mouthfeel has a moderate to light carbonation.
Overall this is another fine brew conjured up by the brew wizards and warlocks at Terrapin.

A-Dark copper, 1 finger tan head, very little lacing
S- Piney with a little caramel as it warms
T- Follows smell with hops upfront, I don't get the typical rye bite like Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye
M- Medium

I'm a huge Terrapin fan and this beer didn't disappoint.

12 oz 2014 bottle served in a lager glass.

A great looking ale, it is deep red-brown with excellent clarity and a creamy tan head that has great endurance and lacing.

Aroma: spicy, herbal and pungent.

Not terribly familiar with this hop variety but I get a clear impression that the rye grain is a great match for this hop. Simultaneously seems balanced yet very spicy. Impossible to separate the hop flavors from the rye flavors, excepting the tropical fruits. Spicy notes linger on in the hoppy aftertaste.

Feel: near medium body with lively, medium+ carbonation.
