Good selection of quite eclectic brews. A few from far-flung craft breweries, and several Belgians and Germans. Quite a few San Diego County beers. The wall of beer listings is made up of big stick-on squares that are very informative and easy to read. I don't think anyone else in town has such a good beer menu system.

The sausages are quite decent, though I don't care for the potato chips with them as everything from meat to mustard is already so salty.

This is a jolly locals place but it's not one of my favorites since the atmosphere is kind of lacking. The place is so small inside it can be hard to manoeuver and even harder to get to the bar to order a beer when it's busy. It's often quite noisy and hard to converse. Outside is a narrow walkway with a couple of small tables, plus a tiny patio overlooking the parking lot and the freeway across the street.

I have been here several times, but not lately, so I stopped by last night. I was on my bike, which is the only way you'll get a parking spot. It's two blocks from the San Diego Trolley, which is another way to go, and then you can stop at Latchkey Brewing on your way back to the station.

Regal Beagle always has some of the most delicious local San Diego craft brews available. I keep coming back week after week to see what they have, and I don't live anywhere near it. They constantly are switching out new beers and typically have up to 24 beers on tap. They also have specialty bottles.

They serve specialty sausages as well (about 8 rotating options) that comes on a bun with homemade chips or fries.

They are unique in that your food order is a character name. Pretty funny when they call our Mork and Mindy, Screech, or Zac Morris to get your order.

It doesn't get very full for happy hour time, but they get packed when there is an event. Great place to grab a couple craft beers on a weekend, or after work with the coworkers and friends. It's not big and only seats about 50 people.

I have been going to The Regal Beagle for some time now, about two years. It is small but the atmosphere is great with music but at a good volume so you can easily talk to friends at a normal tone of voice. Their beer selection is also great resulting in 24 beers to choose from, all top quality craft. The beer prices range from $4 to $8 usually depending on how rare it is as well as alcohol volume. They great relationships with San Diego breweries holding special cask nights or keg releases often times with the presence of the head brewers helping crack the new kegs. Just a great wonderful place to drink.

I went here with some friends who love this place, mainly because it is close and the staff is friendly. I did not have any sausage so I cannot comment on that, but they sure did sound good from the menu. I did have some of the fried mac and cheese. I won't be craving them, but it was good bar food. I love that they have a dart board, and how the place was well lit. It is a small area but seemed to fit a good number of people comfortably. There are about 25 taps, with locals, domestic crafts and imports. Overall it is a good list, I got a yeti, friend got a Bump in the Night. They try and keep a sour on one tap at all times. Unfortunately none of us cared for the one on tap, which is to bad for my friends wife, since the only beer she likes are sours. The prices were reasonable, I believe mine was $6, and my friends was $5. The staff was friendly and willing to talk a little beer and ask your opinion on things. I can see why my friends make this their local bar. I have no problem stopping there some more.

My buddy owns Blue Water Fish Market located next door to this place, so when I went there for lunch the other day I poked my head in this joint and saw they had a decent beer menu and decided to give it a shot the following Friday.

This place has a good amount of space with a big bar up against the wall and a chalkboard listing their beer selection (app. 24 taps), a large sitting area right in the middle and a handful of 2 - 3 person tables scattered about. Man this place has some bright lighting - too bright! They really need to tone it down a bit. The clientele is a bit upscale - tons of businessmen in suits and ties and kind of a sausage party - no pun intended, just too many dudes! I did notice as the sun went down and night set in that the suits thinned out a bit and a younger and more relaxed crowd seemed to be coming in - we left around 7pm, so maybe it becomes less of a businessman sausage party as the night goes on (???).

The guy bartending the night we stopped in made sure to finish his conversation at the end of the bar before taking our order and seemed put off when we ordered our first round (second round went pretty much the same).

The selection saves this place, but it's nothing you can't find anywhere around town these days. At the same time though - I was pretty hyped on the Mikkeller Single Hop Chinook IPA and hadn't actually seen this on tap in the States. If I do happen to stop in this place again, it will be strictly because of their selection (and they're only a 10 - 15 minute drive from my pad).

Stopped in just to check the place out and have a couple drinks, so I can't actually comment on the food, except for the fact that they use a blow-horn to announce when an order is ready and not a PA system - thought this was pretty classic and hilarious. The price really wasn't bad at all - 2 Mikkeller IPA's and 2 Port Mongo IPA's for $24. after tip. Suppose it depends on your interpretation of a good price, but I thought it was pretty reasonable by today's beer standards.

Atmosphere: Great ambiance with a 'locals' feel to it. The decor is simple with dark furniture that offsets that glistening So Cal sunshine. The most attractive artwork is the wall of chalk tablets, each displaying a name of a beer, the brewery of origin, ABV, and IBUs. Several tv's are mounted around the dining/bar area. When ordering from the bar, the bartender attaches the ticket to a carabiner and flings it across a steel cable into the kitchen. Another unique feature is the use of personalized koozies instead of the typical mug with a name on it for the regulars.

Quality: Very good and clean, which was a little surprising considering the location in a very average 4-5 unit commercial strip mall next to the freeway with no more than a dozen parking spots. Lots of street parking available.

Service: Great service. The bartenders seem to know what they are serving. Food came out quickly, with no hassles. No attitudes either, just the typical laid back San Diego atmosphere.

Selection: Nice selection of local brews (I think every SD brewery is represented) with the remaining third made up of breweries from around the country and a few Belgians. 24 taps in all. Only thing missing is a cask and maybe a bottle list, but neither are really necessary. Due to lack of space, they have a mini-fridge with a few cans of Maui Brewing and Oskar Blues, but they sit right next to a stack of Coors Light, which earned negative points.

Food: Excellent sausages! Meat in tube form is always a great accompaniment with beer. Moroccan style lamb, smoked Cajun, German garlic, turkey cranberry, veal brats, and jalapeno cheddar to name a few, and each with a side of chips at reasonable prices. Can't forget to mention the side order of tater tots and selection of six different mustards.

Overall, this should be a regular destination for locals and worth a stop for tourists on the way to the airport. Ambiance, beer selection, delicious sausages, friendly bartenders, and value... Regal Beagle seems to have it all.
