This is a great beer. I think I like it better than the cask aged version.

Pours cloudy. Great fruit tones. Mild and appropriate sweetness. Great feel. Even and smooth overall. Like I said: this is a great beer. I definitely like this one better than the cask aged version. This is a brewery to watch out for.

Poured into a Stone Brewery flute. Pours a slightly hazy medium orange with a two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bready candi malt, apple and pear, light stone fruit, coriander and clove; spicy and fruity. Flavor has the same fruit profile, apple family fruit, light stone fruit, perhaps a bit of banana; spicy coriander and clove, bready, but dry malt, an unusual earthy spice flavor I can't place. Lingering tripel spices and fruit in the finish. Medium bodied with great carbonation. Malt, traditional spices and fruit flavors are classic tripel style, but there is an odd, but pleasant spice flavor, perhaps an earthy summer herb like sage, that makes this taste distinctly different. Although somewhat unusual, the flavors fit perfectly with the more traditional elements. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Glad I found this, my first beer from Ohio, on my recent trip to southern California. I hope to see this brewery in the Northwest. I look forward to trying their other beer.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Simple and solid pop off the cork as it opens.

Deep tangerine orange body, with a good glow to it, fairly uniform with a bit of light gives off a lemon orb shine. Not much noticeable rising carbonation but also some snappy soda sounding coming out on the pour. Head is creamy but small, barely a finger, but with snapping carbonation and a little bit of fizz. Manage to keep a thin top though, bleach white with skim cream like top.

Very noticeable esters aroma off the pour. Hints towards fruit orange and a bit of apricot slightly, with a wet clean sense. Small Belgian candy sweetness and a light toasty malt make an interesting play. Slight cake sweetness but also some dry flour as well. Overall a mix of some impressive notes but also distracting surprises, but overall very solid bouquet.

Palate is very sweet but tolerable. It's the first thing you notice. Lots of Belgian candy sugar but it's not too much for me even though I usually counter to a far less sweet tooth than I used to. Fruity toasty mid palate, but lots of sweet vanilla notes and almost milky. Luckily some tight carbonation makes an appearance very unexpectedly, and breaks it up with some fun. Golden delicious apple kicks in real nicely after some time. Mouthfeel hits about decent quality, but also lacks some malt thickness and character.

Overall some real impressive qualities, but also a bit sweet too. Just a solid tripel.

Enjoyed from the bomber in a Delirium snifter. This fine Belgian tripel pours a hazy rustic golden color with a very nice white head that dissipates ever so slowly to a thick layer and excellent lacing. Nose of earthy yeast, Belgian candy sugar, lemon zest, and spices. Flavors feature spices of coriander and pepper awash in a cascade of earthy Belgian yeast and candy sugar, moderate grain notes, and citrus notes on the back mingling with spicy alcohol warmth. Very nice and becomes more complex with warmth. Good carbonation makes this a smooth sipper that finishes lightly dry. A solid ale from a company doing the Belgian style justice in Ohio.

Cheers!

Update in 2018----form the growler there are more notes of apple and subtle apricot laden
with dried apple and cracker notes. From Jungle Jim's in Eastgate.....FANTASTIC!
