Pretty good wit here. Nice citrus tones. Mild earthy and grass characteristics. Very easy to drink and very well balanced. The only detractor is a high level of carbonationl Beyond that though, this is a well executed example of the style. Another nice one from Rockmill.

Appearance: This beer pours a pale straw golden color and is topped with just a thin layer of head.
Smell: The aroma of this wit has a slight malt and yeast aroma but I can smell the slightest amount of possible funky aroma might be spoiled.
Taste: The taste of the beer doesn’t have a funky taste it is rather good for the style I am not a big wit beer fan but the yeast is subtle enough that it doesn’t dominate the malt flavor.
Mouthfeel: This is a thin but tasty beer I just wish that the aroma was better.

Poured from a bottle into 2 glasses. Done as split pour with the last quarter of the bottle swirled to get the sediment from the bottom.
A cloudy yellow color looks nice.
Not much aroma maybe a little sour bread and fruit.
The initial taste is almost like water with a coriander and yeast bread finish.
Mouthfeel is very light again like water. The finish has a light pleasant carbonation that helps accentuate the slight spiciness of the coriander.
Overall a night lighter tasting brew.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a very light amount of visible carbonation. It is very carbonated and poured with a two finger high white head that gradually died down but never completely faded away.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of grainy malts and earthy yeast in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of grainy malts and earthy yeast with a slight amount of bitterness. There are also some notes of spices towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This tastes more like a "farmhouse" witbier if there is such a style as it shares some similarities with a saison.

Light scents of coriander, baked bread, and just a touch of citrus orange to round it out. I would say this smells like a poppyseed bagel if you replaced the poppy seeds with coriander.

Beautiful opaque straw gold color with the crispest white head (and plenty of it) to top it off. No visible carbonation but the lacing rings it leaves around the glass are quite nice.

Right upfront it has a nice coriander flavor that flows through the beer. It's accompanied by this wonderfully yeast-heavy bread flavor in the middle and finishes again on a spicy note of coriander. It is super carbonated, and I mean high carbonation. Moderate body feels just about right for this beer. The carbonation makes it a bit hard to drink, as it foams easily. It is refreshing, tasty, and a wonderful example of a Belgian Wit inside the good ol' U.S. of A.

750ml poured into a snifter.

Plenty and I mean plenty of visible carbonation. Thick rocky head like a root beer float. Hazy golden yellow.

Lots of spice and yeasty characters in the nose.

More spice in the first sip along with a champagne-like mouthfeel. Really heavy amounts of coriander and belgian yeast-like phenols. Somewhat harsh and almost overpowering without coming off like rocket fuel. Yet, easy to drink and refreshing on a humid night.

Not to beat up too much on my wife's tastebuds but she will occasionally drink another well known American Witbier that most people know of and she very rarely branches out to try another...well needless to say she helped to split this will me and was impressed. Not to take anything away from her or rock mill but I'm just saying this is approachable and drinkable for many.

Witbier pours a really nice looking gold color. It’s very hazy. Backlighting reveals a slight copper hue. Carbonation looks quite active, yielding a white head that stands two and a half fingers tall. It recedes somewhat quickly, leaving a moderate coat of sticky lace behind.

The nose is good. It smells earthy and very grainy up front. There’s a nice spicy quality to it that really shines. Coriander, orange peel, and pepper are all noted. Once the spices emerge, the really are front and center. There’s a light floral hop scent that’s an excellent complement to the spicy notes. Alcohol isn’t noticeable at all. Smells good.

The flavor is just as impressive. It starts out with a nice mix of earthy and grainy flavors. They linger throughout. Spices jump into the mix quickly. Pepper, orange peel, and coriander are the most notable. It’s a very flavorful, satisfying combo. There’s a very lively hoppy flavor that follows. It’s a mix of floral and grassy hops. It’s more bitter than you might expect. It works nicely with the spicy flavors though. Alcohol is masked extremely well and isn’t noticeable at all. Finishes earthy, spicy, bitter, and a little dry.

Witbier has a lighter body. Carbonation is active. It has a really nice crisp, refreshing bite. For the style, it works really. Definitely makes for smooth and easy drinking. This 750 doesn’t stand a chance.

I’ve been interested to try a beer from Rockmill Brewery for some time. I was very curious how this small brewery from small town Lancaster, Ohio would perform. If Witbier is any indication, they’re doing alright. This is a really solid beer. I like it. It’s a very tasty Witbier that would definitely satisfy in the warmer months. Perhaps I’ll seek out another bottle then. If the price tag doesn’t scare you away, grab a bottle. It’s good stuff.
