This place is more suited for the highbrow crowd, but they were more than welcoming to my punk ass. Yuppies and guys in nice suits made up most of the crowd the night I went.

They seem to focus on quality here. They do not offer many brews but what they have is top notch. I don't remember much of what they offered, but I remember them having offerings by Dogfish Head, Brooklyn, the Bruery , plus some Belgian selections, but the highlight for me was their house beer SAISON DE MAISON whch is brewed just for the Greenhouse by the Buckeye Brewing Company.

The bartender we had was great...very friendly and somewhat knowledgeable. Often times in higher class places I tend to get overlooked, but our bartender made sure we were well taken care of...and that really means a lot to me.

I didnt eat there but Id like to.

Ate dinner here will my wife. This place specializes in using local sources for their food, but the beer selection was good too. Restaurant first, but they had a long bar in the main room. Tables were outside, inside, and up in the 2nd floor area.

Beer selection was not just local - but a good representational list of American craft beer. They had two "house beers" on tap that are brewed by Victory. Wide variety of styles and breweries so anyone should be able to find something that suits their fancy.

Our waitress was nice and friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Geared toward the "foodie" crowd. High end food but a casual place. Would recommend.

The Greenhouse Tavern is one of the best restaurants in Cleveland, if not the whole country! Located in the restaurant row/alley of 4th Street right in Downtown.

Chef Jonathon Sawyer was recently named an "F&W Best New Chef", and his restaurant is the first to be certified green. His food is local, fresh, simple, delicious and -to top it all off- affordable. You can have a 4-course dinner here for $44, including risottos, house-made pates and pastas and the chef's famous foie-gras-steamed clams (they really are good)

They focus mostly on wine here (affordable too) but they have a great selection of beer as well. Victory Brewing makes a lager for them ("Greenhouse Lager"), and they have a bit of everything on their taps, Brooklyn, Southern Tier, Bell's, Victory, Ithaca... Few taps, but all of them are top-notch.

Their bottled selection is even bigger, and it focuses on Flemish, Belgian and Sours. If you're a fan of those, you'll be happy at the Greenhouse! They also host beer dinners and tastings, like a Dogfish Beer Dinner, or a Saison tasting paired with appetizers from Chef Sawyer.

Prices are low and service is excellent. I ordered a Belgian beer I didn't like and our friendly server took it off the menu, even though it was priced at $12 and I chose it. Talk about greatness!

Ambience is good, can get a bit boisterous of crowded but the place is ginormous. Many areas and levels, and a big bar. Cozy despite the size, very warm. This is a casual restaurant, despite being one of the best, so you don't need to dress up or look fancy. All sorts of people here. You'll even see the chef running around in his shorts, looking all excited. It's fun!

Come here for the food, stay for the beer. And then come back.
