Atmosphere - this is a small place as you walk in the bar is right in front of you with tables to the left and right. One wall is brick with DEMANDLESS cut into it another is made to look like a bookcase with broken glass behind the books. Its like a classy hipster bar.

Quality/Selection - everything they serve here is on the higher end for their drinks. You won't find anything made by the big three served here mostly California crafts and Belgians. Even the liquor is high end don't expect to get a Jack and coke here.

Service - all the times I've been here I haven't had any issues with the service its always been quick and they know what they're talking about.

Food - Everything I've had to eat here has been very fresh and very well made.

This place is at the south end of the Little Italy/India Street corridor. Long outdoor space up off the sidewalk and open walls. Interior is moody and interesting. Multi-level bar. Beer selection is worth a look, if not vast, there are interesting choices expecially if you're hungry.

I was surprised by how good the food is. There doesn't seem to be a happy hour as such, but there are smaller plates and good variety. Even better the prices are not so high and the portions are generous. We had three big, crunchy biscuits (corn and scallions) with cheese and jam dips ($5), a large side of spicy cole slaw ($3), and a big salad of all kinds of stuff for $11.

This place has been here a while and seems to do well with a younger but quite mixed crowd. Walk from downtown or the Embarcadero. Near the light rail stops.

I found the vibe here to be nice. It's a fairly large space with a funky shaped bar area. There are tons of tables inside with some patio area.

I came here after work, and before catching my train back to LA. It's walking distance to the Santa Fe Depot. The tap list good, though not spectacular. I had a new local stout, and it was actually quite good. The fried dill pickles I didn't care for much.

My server was very friendly, and the service here was great.

Since it's close to my San Diego office, I imagine I'll revisit many times.

Add: I visited Craft & Commerce again, and this time, I had mini corn dogs. They were delicious!

I work about a block away so it's a great place to go and drink a few. I'm always here between the 5:30-7:00pm (after work) time so I'll base my review on these times. The vibe is "hip" and the crowd is mostly younger (20-30) professionals oozing with disposable income. I'm in my late 30's and sometimes feel like the "old guy" here.
The beer taps include 10 or 12 regular beers and about the same number of rotating taps. There's always something here that I'm satisfied with. Best part: their happy hour offers a 2 for 1 on all local beers. I mainly take advantage of this deal (2 for 1 Speedway Stout? Sure!) unless there is something amazing on.
There is also an almost full bar here (no Vodka because Vodka isn't "cool") and the food is pretty good. Pricey, but tasty. I've never been disappointed and even their fried chicken was delicious.
The service is iffy at times, but I can overlook some bad when I'm drinking 2 for 1 Sculpins. Definitely a place to stop by if you're in the area (walking distance), but not worth seeking out if you're not close (parking is non-existent).

Very hip vibe here. One of the locals though said it gets even more hipsterish in the northern side. The bartenders all had a gawky hipsterish attire. The crowd here though didn't reflect the bartenders. Lots of women 20-30, the guys I met were also down to earth. It is a good place to go for some intensity but also some relaxation. The beer list is good. About 10 regular taps which were all solid and 12 rotating ones. I laughed when the Jacobins was less than the Duchesse because it totally kicks Duchesse's ass. I had one of those along with a smattering of locals. It was an easy place to stay at for the night, I met some cool people. The burger was cooked nicely rare and had some goof flavor. The fries had a good seasoning. Didn't bother with the aeioli, mayo is def worse than ketchup, which they didn't serve. Though I would have taken some hot sauce to dip my fries in. Top notch service the bartender knew his beers and really knew his mixed drinks, he was obsessed with the mixed drinks.

Adequate downtown (Little Italy) eatery with an attitude and an OK beer selection. A love it or hate it place.

Craft & Commerce is on the first floor of a mixed use building with retail on the bottom floor and condos above. I would suspect that ten years ago this part of town was, at best, a dump. Like many urban development plans, the area is now filled with upscale restaurants, bars, boutiques, and pricey condos. Just the kind of thing that appeals to the mid 20s to early 30s crowd (i.e., those without children and a good amount of disposable income). Hipster? Maybe when it first opened. Judging by the size of the crowd on Wednesday night, I'd suspect that it's much too popular for the typical hipster. It does give off a hipster vibe, however. Dark, minimalist interior. Menu with an attitude (they don't serve ketchup or vodka because [pick one]: a) they haven't figured out how to make ketchup that doesn't over power food or classical drinks with vodka; b) it isn't hip). The hosts and wait people oozed a trendy smarminess. Even so, the service was very good, attentive but not overly so. Beer selection was decent, about 20 to 25 taps, two of which were out but not replaced. Good, but not spectacular choices. All were very safe selection, nothing to challenge the seasoned beer enthusiast. The high point was the food. While my colleague and I only had appetizers, all were well prepared.

Would I return? I might. The food was good and the beer was decent (albeit uninspiring). I'd make sure to go early in the week or evening.

Visited for dinner 2/22/12.
