A dash of freshness !

Born from a special recipe which combines malted barley and wheat, Meteor Blanche will appeal to everyone's palate buds with its floral, smooth taste. It has a perfect, typical white-beer colour and reveals a slightly acid and spicy taste on the palate. Particularly thirst-quenching, with an extreme freshness hidden underneath its light foam. Can be enjoyed with a slice of lemon for even more taste!

The pour is a hazy yellow. The taste is orange peel, white cracker, coriander, & vanilla. Cheers! B-

330 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Hazy and very pale straw colour, small white head. Moderate aroma of wheat and citrus, some weak floral notes, only a hint of coriander. Citric mouthfeel, moderate carbonation, light bodied. Flavour of wheat and citrus, hardly any coriander, minimal hops. Refreshing, but not a great witbier.

The beer I had was at a French Steakhouse in New York City. It was listed on the menu as Meteor White Ale. The taste was very smooth- I am not a quick drinker but I could have finished this in a few sips. Taste was not overwhelming-pleasant, not outstanding but good. There was a modest foam head that disappeared fairly quickly.

I would have another if I saw it but I can't say it was a memorable taste.

L- 'That hazy/chalky/sherberty yellow/pale tan colour'. Pours with a 3mm white head.
S- Wheaty.
T- Grainy, bready. Within the wheat/wit/weiss spectrum, pretty subtle.
F- Probably comes over as about 4.7% Maybe a touch higher as it has hints of richness to it.
O- It's perfectly drinkable and there's nothing objestionable here to note. Then again it isn't anything particularly special either and for the price I'd be better off with say a German weiss or Belgian wit.

Witbeer with a more reserved flavor and lighter body. Mild traditional wit aroma. Appealing amount of bubbles produces a crisp bite on the finish.

I've always liked the wit for what I call the 6Ss. The wit is Simple, Soft (wheat) and adds interesting Spices other than hops. Plus it is refreshing for 3 Seasons a year.

So when I get a wit that fulfills all 6Ss and the BA average says only "OK," then that wit needs some love.

I will agree that Meteor Blanche Looks and Smells average (minimal suds, consistent cloudy pale, and mostly malt.) But Taste is perfectly simple: a nicely balanced malt bill with at least two dominant grains for contrast and just enough hops and spices to prevent sweetness and create interest. And of course, it is all sits in the mouth and I wish there was a second bottle for me.

This is my second from Meteor and I had the lager so many beers ago that I cannot remember it (hint: that's why we review.) At any rate, I remember this is a family brewery in the Alsace region which is an interesting mixture of German ingredients, the French kitchen and Belgian sensibilities. While Meteor produces only a few beers that make it to the States occasionally, I look forward to more.

Unimpressive and bland witbier from Meteor. Hazy gold with thin white head. musty, dusty aroma . Taste is mostly white bread, with some faint citrus. Might have been an old bottle.

Pours a cloudy grayish yellow. Aroma of wheat and Belgian like yeast. In the taste, bubble gum like wheat, a touch of clove and orange peel. Mild bitterness with green tea notes. Finishes sweet and grainy. Light bodied brew, and easy drinking. Well carbonated. Makes for a refreshing choice on a balmy summer night. Simple, but still enjoyable.

A: The beer is hazy light pale yellow in color and somewhat resembles lemonade or soda, coming in a 250 mL clear glass bottle and having a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down but never completely faded away.
S: There are light aromas of wheat and corn in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has light flavors of wheat along with notes of corn and hints of lemon citrus.
M: It feels light-bodied and a little watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink but isn't nearly as refreshing compared to other witbiers. It seems like it could use a little more lemons or spices to make the taste more interesting.
