25cl bottle: part of a six pack bought at a French supermarket in Calais. Poured into a Chimay chalice on 23 Feb 14.

Looks lager/pilsner like: clear, deep golden hue to the clean body, the head a thin wisp from the start and just a collar after 10 seconds.

The aroma is semi-sweet grainy: the taste very similar with just about enough flavour to hide the alcohol. It lacks depth and character but it isn't a bad beer, just a little one dimensional and not really my thing even though I prefer malty and sweet beers.

Scored objectively.

A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color with some amber hues and has a light amount of visible carbonation along with some fine particles floating in suspension. It poured with a half finger high off white head that died down but left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface. This eventually faded away, leaving only a collar around the edge of the glass and bits of lacing down the edges..
S: There are light to moderate aromas of apples, fruity yeast and sweet malts in the nose.
T: The initial taste is a little sweet, with flavors of apples, caramel and honey and transitions to some spices towards the finish. There is a light amount of hop bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation with a little dryness in the finish.
O: This beer definitely tastes like a Belgian Pale Ale, but has a farmhouse-like accent to it.

250ml bottle poured into a small wine glass. No freshness info.

Honey amber in color and syrupy looking when it, both, came out of the bottle and hit the bottom of the glass. Looks glossy and thick. Clarity is pretty decent (a thousand micro-floaties). No head formed. Just a thin ring with evident bubbles (and, I was really trying!).

Strange cake-y malts and some yeastiness. Sweet and strangely syrupy in aroma, like canned fruit light syrup. Marzipan and sweet almond. Artificial peach, but not THAT sweet. Nothing interesting going on here.

Thin flavors with more of that artificial peach and yeast nuttiness to imply that it was intended to be a Belgian-style ale. Frankly, it could just be past its prime. And, it probably is, but there are no real indicators of oxidation or the like. Just thinness, wheat malts, flat hop bitterness, and leftover wort-y sugars. A most strange Belgian Pale Ale. Need dried up and the yeast needs swapped out for something more quality.

The feel is greasy, but with some carbonation to confuse things. Too syrupy in the body, which allows for a slight, but very much unwanted, stickiness. Unfriendly.

Having some trouble getting through this one. Everything is off, and more than just slightly. Hard to believe the appearance got rated the worst (but hey, it does look awful). Can't speak too kindly about the rest of it, neither.

Served in pokal (signature Meteor glass)

Appearance: Darker gold color with bubbles all over the body with a white head maybe 1/3'

Smell: Average hops smell, nothing to go crazy for.

Taste: Above average hops taste, I really like the taste. It is lightly bold if that makes sense. Creamy taste that makes you think it's a crossover between a marzen and an ale.

Mouth: Average at best. Little crisp but ok mouth.

Overall: For the price at 5 bucks or so a 6 pack it is worth your time. A quick one to have right after work. Enjoy and keep drinking, Salud!

Poured from 250mL bottle into a tulip.

Appearance: light golden color with a light haze and moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy ivory foam demonstrating a moderate retention. Not bad.

Smell: nice malt aroma with a sweet and fruity character. There are light raspberry and strawberry-like elements as well as a well-developed maltiness. I like it.

Taste: much less fruity than the aroma, so the malt stands out a little bit more. Unfortunately, this means it has less character than the aroma. Still decent, but not as nice as the smell.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a light carbonation and light creaminess. Decent.

Overall: a very drinkable but non-exceptional Belgian-style pale. I doubt I would seek this out again, but I would drink it if presented to me.

Served from tap into a Trappe Door tulip. Poured a golden orange with a two finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, spices, and wheat. The flavor was of sweet malt banana, cinnamon, and a very subtle roasted malt. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a decent brew. The flavor on this one was a little more diluted that I would have hoped if I am completely honest here. This did however make it very easy to drink, but did hurt the beer overall. The subtle roastiness I found on the followthrough was rather odd and felt out of place on this one. The aroma was a little more of the same as far as intensity. Worth trying if you get the chance, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
