There is nothing particularly amazing or dislikeable about this beer. I would not go out of my way to buy 6 or a dozen of these at a time, but it makes for a pleasant diversion when found in a mixer pack. It's relatively light, with some interesting hop notes. Overall, this is a very likeable beer.

When you first bring your glass to your nose the hops come out and grabs you. There is a nice malt flavour that accentuates the bitterness that completes the tasty ale.

Lighthouse Brewing 'Tasman Pale Ale' @ 4.6% , served from 3 x 355 ml bottles
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a clear gold/amber in the glass with a smallish off-white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-southern hemisphere hops (Ella , Vic Secret & Moteuka)
T-mild tasting pale ale , certainly no wow factor
MF-decent carbonation , weak medium body
Ov-ok beer , not a great pale ale , disappointing

Aroma of apples. A bit of fruitiness at the start, peppery notes at the finish. Very crisp and refreshing.

Enjoyed a bottle poured into a glass at a BBQ joint in Victoria BC, first new brew of a four-day beer-centric vacation to the beautiful west coast island city. A low key start, really. An orange-red amber colored brew with ample beige bubbles that broke quickly. There was a marked discrepancy between smell and taste here. The former was otherworldly, tons of tropical Kiwi hops that evoked muscat grape, kiwi, gooseberry, and a passion fruit-like muskiness over top a mellow caramel backbone. Why is this categorized as a red/amber ale rather than a straight-up pale? I realize that niggling over style classifications can be annoying as fuck, but truly, the malts are too low key here for the red designation to fit. In all honestly, the entire gustatory experience was too clean and crisp for my liking, with the elements on the nose present but decidedly dialed down. The malts are a tad buttery and nutty I suppose, and the hops almost come off as English on the tongue. Errs on the leafy and floral side perhaps, grape leaf and violets rather than strong tropical fruits, with a thin body and moderate to high carbonation. Finishes with a clean hop bitterness. I'd try it again and the aroma is certainly wonderful.
