Lots of flavours going on, solid price, just not my thing. Never been huge on reds though

355 ml can.
This beer poured clear, red amber color, with an off-white head. Left thick, chunky lace but head itself didn't last.
It smells of biscuit caramel malt, and dark fruits, and some earthy hops.
The taste starts with toffee caramel, toasted malt, and lots of leafy and herbal hops. Alcohol stays hidden in the background.
The body is medium towards heavy, smooth, and creamy. Nice hoppy finish.
Overall, very impressed.
Note to Self: Ranked #49 on the list of Top American Amber / Red Ales.

Can poured into a shaker pint glass. One is immediately struck by the dark bronze color, near maroon, graced by a large frothy beige head. Aroma is fantastic and conveys sweet and hoppy in nigh-equal measure ... caramels, red licorice, dried mango, grapefruit rind and flesh, with a little pine resin. Palate conveys more spectacular caramel candy and black tea effects, root beer-like herbs, pineapple and papaya spears, dried spicy orange peel, cotton candy, and just enough pine needle to prevent things from veering too far into the cloying sweetness realm. The sweetness does exert its presence from start to finish, but a bitter hop spice also gathers steam and this tea bag element (get your mind outta the gutter) really does keep things anchored in "red IPA" territory although this is not advertised as such. Body and carbonation both rest comfortably in moderate territory. Loving the spicy tingle and resinous mouthfeel that persists well after the last drop is gone. When this style manages to successfully juggle the malt and hop-mediated flavors, integrating them all into one fruity, spicy, caramel pudding tea type of package (if you follow that), its one of my absolute favorites. Here we have indeed jumped over this bar and I will be stocking up accordingly.

Appearance- Pours a medium copper red with a finger of creamy beige head.
Smell- caramalts, citrus hop, touch of pine resin, hint of tropical fruits.
Taste- Starts with the sweetness of the caramalts then transforms to the bitterness of citrus hops. A pleasant bitterness along with the pine resin lingers in the finish.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.Pleasant stickiness to the body.
Overall- A solid American Amber/Red from Lighthouse. A nice hop profile with a supporting caramalt sweetness.

Lighthouse Brewing 'Siren Red Ale' @ 8.0% , served on tap , a couple of 355 ml can's & some 650 ml bottle's
A-pour is a funky red/brown from the tap/can/bottle to a amber in the glass with a medium size off-white head leaving a streaky lace along the pint/sampler
S-sweet caramel , hints of malt
T-big tasting from the start , sweet malts meet bitter resin finish
MF-decent carbonation , full bodied
Ov-one of Lighthouse best beers , also many thanks to the staff at the original growler bar for the artwork

355ml can, from a rather inexpensive 4-pack recently arrived here in Alberta. The Betty Page knockoff knockout on our labels has her wearing at least a bikini bottom, with a shoulder tattoo, for what it's worth. I like the one pictured here better.
This beer pours a clear, red brick amber hue, with three fat fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and generally bubbly off-white head, which leaves some thick, patchy cobwebbed lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.
It smells of semi-sweet biscuity caramel malt, dark reduced sugar, a sort of artificial black candied fruitiness, musty, over-steeped teabags, a hint of earthy yeast, and leafy, weedy hops. The taste is more somewhat warm caramel pudding malt, a serviceable biscuity breadiness, the red licorice strands that I bought as a youngster in Banff's tourist shops, that didn't taste anything like real licorice, simmering brown sugar, and earthy, leafy, and fairly perfumed hops - the 16-proof booze doing well to manifest in such a low-key, gentlemanly manner.
The bubbles are pretty soft and innocuous, the body a sturdy medium-heavy weight for the style, quite smooth, and more than a tad creamy. It finishes well off-dry, but strangely moderated, as the alcohol and understudy hops come into play in countering the huge lingering caramel, toffee, and fruit sweetness.
One kick-ass, heavy amber ale, from the sassy packaging, all the way through to the absurdly gentle finish. Big, and unabashedly brash in its sweetness, but hardly overbearing - just like a good siren should be. My blind ship could get into a whole lot of trouble if I were to choose to happily crush the remaining 3 cans - maybe I'll save them for another time.
