2011 Vintage at the Barrel Room
A: small tan head with an edge of grey rapidly dissipates to a ring of medium bubbles. Murky red color.
S: Port and cherry aromas are detectable from a distance. Lactic tang, a bit of apple. A little bit of wood. Some whiffs of funk when swirling. Wish the Barrel House served their beers in glasses better suited to assessing aroma.
T: Woody and earthy, lots of lactic. Hard to pick out specifics, but there's lots of dark fruit and some wine notes.
M: Well carbonated, medium body. Good linger. Some mild astringency.
O: Rich, complex and tasty, although the flavors sort of blur together making it hard to pick out the details. Quite enjoyable, though.
Serving type: on-tap
