2009 Project

Interesting ale for sure. Kind of reminded me of a flanders red with plums and dates, along with a little lactic acid. Was definitely interesting, though I don’t know if I’d call it a winner. It could have been the supplication I had prior to this skewing my thoughts, so I’ll certainly have to revisit, but I just felt as though it was a little flat and not very complex. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor was decent, but it never evolved as it warmed and stayed somewhat muted. (498 characters)

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. It was part of a great tasting that included seven bottled Cascade sours.

The beer pours a murky brown color with a tan head. The aroma is dark fruit with some tart cherries. The flavor is oak, tartness and cherries. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. (304 characters)

Enjoyed on draft at Cascade, poured into a snifter. Pours a deep garnet red with two fingers of head and oily lacing. Loads of tart cherries in the nose and a bit of funk. The taste follows suit, much more tart than I expected from the nose. There's definitely some notes of vinegar present. Like most of their beers, the alcohol is very well hidden. Lot's of stuff happening with this funky little brew. I recommend you try this one for yourself and let us know what you think. Cheers! (486 characters)
