Thanks (once again) to Dave (d0b) for bringing this bottle over to our sour/wild tasting. Poured from 750ml bottle into Bell's Tulip.

A - Pours a dark brown that's pretty mirky and has a tan head which about 1.5 fingers or so that sticks around for a long while. Some lacing is evident and a bubbly ring stays behind as well with some fizz bubble here and there. Really nice to look at.

S - Fruity tartness, dark fruit such as plums or raisins. A nice meld of both tart and sweet here. Neither overpowers the other in terms of nose, which makes for a nice combo. I don't get a lot of oak notes here even though it was barrel-aged for quite some time.

T - Tastes like it smells. A mix of sour apples, cherries, lemon citrus, along with some sweet raisins and plums. There are some oak notes here that also contribute to the overall balance of this beer. Really a great meld of flavors.

M - A little too much carbonation for me here, but still a nice tingle on the palate. The finish isn't as dry as I expected but that doesn't bother me at all.

D - Easy to drink, but I don't know if I could polish off several glasses of this. Then again, this is the best Cascade offering I've had to date.

Glass: SH Large Tulip

Pours a brown mahoghany in color w/ ruby red hues w/ a thin 1/3 finger off-white head that left good lacing. Aromas of grape skins, vinegar, cocoa, and wet dog/wet socks. The flavor was mouth puckering sour cherry and grapoes up front, leading into vinegar, and finishing w/ mild cocoa and mild funky wet dog. Thin to medium bodied and lush due to adequate carbonation levels. Brew finishes pretty dry. Easy to drink if you can get past your teeth hurting after a glass.

Overall, nice brew from Cascade again! I thoroughly enjoyed the cocoa malt background in the finish of this wild ale.
