Holy hell of a gusher batman! The pop from the cork was deafening! Left my ears ringing while beer was foaming out the top of the bottle and we were capturing what we could in our glasses.
Pours a murky brown in color with some reddish highlights. When I finally got settled down to drink this beer it had about a inch of head left on it.
Smell was a bit weird. There was sour, some bourbon, some dark fruit. All these were recognizable in the flavor as well, but there was a good bit of oak and some chocolate coming through. I would have never guessed the base beer was a porter. At least I have never seen a porter that looked like this. Decent mouthfeel. This was just an all around weird beer, couldn't quite get into it.
