Really looking forward to this one! Poured into a wine glass.

A) Very nice ruby red thin head that quickly dissipates.

S) Very ripe cherries, one of the better smelling beers I've had!

T) Starts out nicely tart but midway through there is some sweetness from the cherries to balance out. Nice acidity at the end.

M) Carbonation is mild. Alcohol very well hidden.

Enjoyed this one alot!

2016 vintage, on draft at the barrel house, 8 oz in snifter glass

Very dark brown in color, minimal head. Black cherry, blackberry, some dark malt, fairly sour in the finish. Medium bodied.

2015 vintage

I really can’t tell you how many times I’ve picked up this bottle at the the liquor store only to ultimately put it back down. I can never really justify picking it up, but today I saw it and figured, what the hell? It may be a bit old, but let’s see what it’s like

Pours a murky medium brown with a finger of light tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves no lacing

I know that Cascade is known for having highly acidic beers, and maybe it’s a product of its age, but this smells rather balanced and earthy. I’m picking up on aromas of dark cherry, brown sugar, tanniic red wine, sharp oak, cocoa powder, and brown bread

Well, so much for not being acidic. It’s an acid bomb in taste, but I quite like it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting sour cherry, sharp oak, red wine vinegar, old leather, lemon juice, and brown bread. The swallow brings notes of red wine vinegar, brown sugar, lemon juice, black cherry, jammy blackberry, red wine vinegar, and sharp oak

A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a tart and zest beer. Finishes dry and acidic

Oh man, I don’t know why I waited so long to pick this up. It’s such a fun beer. I gotta start picking up more Cascade stuff

Had this last night. It’s holding up well even though it’s a 2016….still carbonated and very smooth. You can definitely get some barrel character when drinking.

A bit too tart in my opinion. I've had better sours and I wonder why this one outranks so many others. It got better as it warmed up, with more fruit and malt notes becoming present, although the bottle explicitly instructs to serve Sang Noir at 40 °F, where the tartness prevails. The beer was more brownish than red or black, contrary to what the name would suggest. Good but not spectacular.

750ml bottle at share. 2012 vintage. Mahogany, clear. Small bubbly head. Tart, fruity aroma, cherries. Taste follows with a nice blast of pucker, heavy cherries. Smooth, full, excellent.
