This one-of-a-kind NW sour is a blend of Belgian strong blondes aged in white port barrels with raspberries, then blended with select barrels of strong blondes that were aged on the toasted meat from the apricot nut, or Noyeaux.

750ml
From the fall 2012 release
5oz Pinocchio's mini snifter

A: Pours cloudy grapefruit purée like. Not a lot of head but good carbonation. Streaming up from bottom. Lots of tiny bubbles rising up.

S: Awesome nose here. Really fruity and tart. Getting lots of those raspberries initially. Digging in you do pull some apricot as well. Some mild oak, but the fruit really is center stage and extremely pleasant with the funkiness going on.

T: Really tart up front. Get that raspberry. Big tart fruit. Plus some sweetness from apricot. The ABV is extremely well hidden. This is a dangerous drink at 8.5%. The mid palate the sourness isn't as cloying and you do pull some of that oak character. This leads into the bone dry close. Very similar to white wine.

M: Medium bodied.

750ml bottle served into a snifter. Thanks for this one Tom!

A: Murky orange/brownish color. Thin white head that receded very quickly.
S: Citrus sourness. Burst of raspberries. Some oakiness, a touch of apricot and grapes. Tons of lactic acid.
T: Faint apricot and mango. Lots of raspberries and woody flavors. Slight vinous notes. Very sour!
M: Medium body with good carbonation. Very drinkable despite the sourness.
O: Excellent sour by Cascade. I've loved everything I've had by them so far. Highly recommended.

Drank before a Wolfpack football tailgate with James. This was one of the more unique colored beers. Has a cloudy orange/yellow/amber colored appearance and a very thin head of off white on it. It quickly vanishes away. The aroma comes close to being described as a fruit explosion. Plenty of that usual lactic sourness, always nicely done. Apricot is the heaviest, other fruit aromas take a back seat, but this one is plenty distinguishable from just the apricot sour they make. Oak is not absent in the aroma either.

Taste, this one does not disappoint, plenty of fruit character. Plenty of tart fruit notes (apricot) and sourness. Wheat? Some minor amount of cherry flavor with a stronger raspebrry presence in the mouthfeel. Throw in more and more citrus sourness and acidity. This is not a mild sour by any means. Carbonation is powerful. Hides the alcohol wonderfully.
