Poured a pale yellow-orange with a finger of bright white head. Big aroma with lemon, grass, and a trace of funk.
High-ish carbonation and a big, creamy mouthfeel. More grass and lemon up front followed by wheaty malt and a some mild tartness on the tail end with more lemon and peppery spice.
Very tasty - nice saison!

Served in tulip. Poured a cloudy golden straw color with a tall and lively white head that had very good retention and moderate lacing.
The aroma was the typical grain, yeast and spice of the style. The flavors also were fairly typical, spicy and yeasty upfront, grain as a foundation.
The body was a bit sticky but otherwise average. Drinkability was very good, as I generally find Saisons to be. Overall, a very nice, solid beer. Certainly worth trying if you see it, and perhaps a wee bit of effort to seek out.
Edit 3/19/12: This beer showed up again and I took notes, forgetting that I had already reviewed it. on my new notes the number were 4.0/4.0/3.5/4.0/4.0, so I bumped up the numbers to sort of average the 2 sets out.
This year had a more spicy/yeasty scent and a more solid grain foundation. Those aspects came across on the tongue as well. The body was crisper and cleaner, without the stickiness I noted last year. I found this years beer to be much better than last years and it is certainly worth seeking out.

On tap at the barrel room the other day. I think this beer has been out for a while now, so I'm a bit surprised it hasn't yet been added to the data base.
The beer pours a peachy gold color with good head retention and decent lacing. The nose is almost all saison goodness, with considerable honey, light malt, white pepper, a hint of ginger and some serious underlying spice. The flavor profile generally replicates the nose in this attractive, fairly dry and hoppy beer. What sweetness I do detect is balanced very well by the spice (nutmeg and allspice largely I think) and light hoppy bitterness, leading to a fairly long, dry, peppery finish. Drinkabiity is pretty good, with the modest alcohol well integrated into the flavor profile.
Very solid effort from Cascade. One of the more interesting domestic style saisons I can recall having.
