Had a pint of this at the lodge; deep bronze in color, light fizzy head than thins quickly. Good carbonation though, a nice malty aroma.
The taste is malty, almost smokey with a nice suble orange flavor. The hops provide a clean, crisp tail, but there's not much hop body to it. Very good with food, and very good for having another.

Poured into a sampler glass at Raccoon Lodge.
appearance - deep amber/bronze, good head, not much retention
smell - earthy and malty
taste - well roasted malts, nutty, sweet
mouthfeel - medium body, carbonation very present, slightly dry finish
drinkability - the beer is decent but has some flaws, still very drinkable, Cascade is better known for more complicated beers although this one may just take a different approach than traditional ambers for what it's worth, definitely unique

I drank a half growler of this ale the day after purchasing it at the brewery. The one-day gap between purchase and consumption couldn't account for the serious spoilage issues I encountered. The problems began with a sour, spoiled smell that trespassed on everything. The taste was also harmed as if from bacterial contamination, but was able to mask this to some extent with hop spice and low bittering. The red-maroon body yielded no lace.
Though Cascade brews a number of exquisite sour beers, this Celtic ale was sour by circumstance not design. It could have once been a fine ale, but not by the time they served it to me.

Four finger browned head over a nearly clear brown light liquid (coper brown). Smells piney hops, earthy, and mild brown malt. A little bit milky.
Tastes lactic soured with too strong of carbonation. Malt is scorched and empty, but the finish has mild chocolate and bread crust. Hops are piney and drying. Md light body and way too strong of carbonation.

The Celtic Copper is a dark amber beer with a small head that laces well. A large malt presence contains some sweetness and some woody, varnish flavors; sweetness is tempered by a light hop bitterness. Some light nut flavors in the background. The beers colors did shine when accompanied with food, also as the glass warmed up. The mouthfeel is thinnish but still good. Not certain what kind of beer this is, but a "pale" doesn't seem right. The "Celtic" seems to indicate a (darkish) red, while the "Copper" indicates an alt. I would consider this a malty amber ale; it's darker than both a red and an alt, although it contains some of their qualities. Good marks from me, but not great.

Deep orangey amber colour, decent lacing lacks in the head retention department. Some haze disappears after the brew warms up a bit.
Medium body but a touch thin on the malt; bready, with a caramel back is light. Mild citric hop tone has a faint piney note and a solid bitter bite. Malt is pushed as side again as the long hoppy finish takes over.
An ok brew, placid maltiness lets the medium build of hops walk all over it. Nothing too impressive about this beer but it is still a decent pint.
