Corked & caged 750ml poured into a white wine glass - split with the wife.
A: Mostly transparent deep red with purple hues...pinkish head gathers and settles quickly but leaves some lacing on the glass.
S: Sour and tart aromas with a good dose of lemon peel. Some fruity notes, bordering on sugary with a jammy essence. Blueberries are detectable.
T: Follows the nose, with lacto sour and lemon. Tart notes of blueberry are there but seem buried; raspberry flavors intertwine as well. Oakiness is very light IMO...sour tartness is not as pronounced as I thought it would be, and the flavor profile isn't as strongly fruity as I had hoped.
MF: Creamy body; tart but not overly so, with a good amount of carbonation. Oak seems to be apparent here.
O: Didn't blow me away. Really wanted more blueberry and more puckering sourness. Even the lacto character wasn't as strong as I had figured it would be. Still good, just not great.
