Enjoyed this one at the Portland, OR barrel room on 9/2/12

A: Pours out a orange amber color. Slightly off white head. Leaves some lacing. Normal looking IPA.

S: I get some nice pine on this one. Not a ton of fruity notes. Maybe a touch of grapefruit. There are some bready malts to balance it there.

T: This is a very session forward, easy drinking. I got some fairly piney hop forward, mild bitterness. There was a nice dry finish. It went well with spicy curried chicken salad that they recommended it with.

M: Medium bodied.

The place I had this only knew it was IPA. If anyone can figure out which IPA this is please combine this review with the proper listing here. Whatever Cascade IPA was available for draft distro in late May 2012, is the beer this is.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a typical orange-amber color with just under an inch of off-white head that had OK retention and no lacing.

The aroma was that of an average PNW IPA, citrusy hops and just a bit of malt scent. The flavors were the same, mostly grapefruit hops, and a lingering bitter finish. Not much of a malt profile.

The body was on the thin side of average. Drinkability was pretty nice, the beer went down easily enough and didn't leave any negative impressions. Overall, a nicely typical NWIPA, worth trying if you see it, not really worth the effort to seek out.
