Aroma: very strong plastic phenol that dominates other aromas, I thought it would dissipate after a few minutes but was still very strong after having been open 15 minutes, after that there is a candy like strawberry aroma along with a some butyric acid (vomit)

Apperance: light amber in color, quite hazy, one inch thick head that was mostly small bubbles but dissipated after a few minutes

Flavor: flavor is very tangy upfront with the strawberry being very subdued but being becoming more prominent in the aftertaste, very low bitterness, both plastic and vomit from aroma aren't nearly as strong (very subdued), finishes very dry

Mouthfeel: medium light body, medium low level of astringency, medium high to high level of carbonation lending some carbonic bite

Overall: the plastic phenol in the aroma tanks this beers and I only drank half of a glass, very disappointing compared to other cascade offerings

Poured as part of the Cascade flight at Provisions. Poured out of a 750ml bottle into a 9oz tulip glass. I had never tried a strawberry infused beer before, and it was exciting to see this available.

Pours a pinkish color with some golden pale streaks at the edge of the glass. Cloudy, with a good deal of a fluffy white head that sticks around longer than the other Cascade beers I tried. Shows a good deal of effervescence as well - the yeast they're using for these beers really work their magic overall to resemble high quality Lambics. Pours exactly as I'd expect a beer of this kind to look - my only complaint is the high amount of cloudiness that slightly interrupts the jewelry-like beauty set from the color.

Smells terrific - an explosion of ripe strawberries and lactic sweetness right at the front, followed with a bit of funk and tartness. Strawberries are everywhere on this, alongside a variety of other red fruit - cranberries and light cherries immediately come to mind. Slightly floral as well, no doubt due to the oak barrels used (this is a blend of un-malted (?) wheat ales that are up to 12 months old), with notes of white orchids. Toffee, along with vanilla and cream sugar, make up the finish, but keep in mind that has a highly mineral, acidic backdrop.

Tastes delicious, and while's it's quite acidic, the strawberries and oak are really working their magic and taking this to its full potential. This tastes, to summarize, like a soured strawberry shortcake of sorts. Along with the vivid notes of sugar coated, under-ripe strawberries, there's also cherries, pomegranate, and rhubarb to add a degree of multi-layered fruitiness. Reminds me a lot of tutti-frutti, if it weren't for the soured notes. Slight white vinegar, green apple skin tartness, white pepper, and some honeyed notes at the finish. Other than lactic creaminess, this finishes with some vanilla and toffee notes that round things up nicely. Carbonation, as well as the yeasty fullness, is just right. It's definitely a bit on the sweet side, but if this were to be a dessert beer, it's one of the most intriguing dessert beers I've had to date.

Tasty stuff, and totally surpassed my expectations. The barrel spices and seemingly fresh tasting fruit make this wholly enjoyable. Strawberries seem to be one of the sweeter fruit one could use in a beer, but if you're a fan (as I am) it's definitely worth a try.
