Ah, Portland. This beer was brewed and released a month back, has been around for growler fills and the keg kicked today at the Raccoon Lodge. Why, then, does the internet not have any information on this beer? Were you too busy drinking to care?

Pouring a very dark brown with reddish brown highlights, this beer is capped with a brown head that leaves some lacing. The nose is delicious. Big, fruity notes with citrus and pine to go with a moderately roasty, rather chocolate-y base, this really does smell like a hoppy stout. The citrus brings a brightness to the nose, acting as a good counterpoint to the roast. Some caramel is present as well. Very enjoyable. The palate is wonderfully flavorful, full of juicy citrus and moderate pine pungency, layered on a chocolate and roast base. The malt character is a good blend of roast, chocolate, dark caramel and dark wheat bread, with the roasted malt bitterness being the most noticeable. Medium-light in body, moderately carbonated, this beer finishes with a juicy, fruity, hoppy character with a moderate bitterness. Less bitter than most CDAs/ABAs, this was thoroughly enjoyable.
