a clean orange/copper pour, TONS of visible carbonation bubbles shooting up quickly, 2 fingers of bright white foam head which dissipated rather slow for the style. aroma of corks, wine barrels, definitely picking up orange, wine-like aroma of grapes, getting a lot of alcohol on the nose, definitely getting a funky overall scent. tart up front, with a very strange flavor profile.. acidic, wine-like, oak/wood barrel, the orange and apricots are subtle... but come forward more as the drink warms up. this is a fantastic tasting sour - very olive/vinegar like in style, so not a great introduction to the style, but holy cow is this thing a fantastic treat for those with experienced taste buds! more tart than it is sour, and more wine-like than it is tart.. so go with that, as my description. high carbonation, light in body (i mean for the abv, this is ridiculously light!) - you cannot taste the alcohol in this at all..
wow - i would LOVE to get some more of their beers.

2015 vintage, ABV 10.3, 750ml corked bottle. Label says "Last produced in 2011, this extremely limited release is a blend of quad and blonde ales aged in bourbon and wine barrels for up to eighteen months with tangerine zest, mandarin zest, apricots and vanilla beans. Rich and complex, Tangerine Dream captures flavors of fresh tangerines, bourbon, vanilla and toasted malts." Pours with the typical slight filmy head of high ABV wild ales. Nice coppery gold that is mostly clear. Smell is very nice, sour apricot with a hint of bourbon and vanilla. Tastes of the tart apricot wild ale with a slight bit of the bourbon and vanilla, as in the smell. I guess the citrus zest flavors merge with the sour apricot ale - hard to pick them out separately. Mouth feel is fluid, slight carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent barrel aged wild ale with a well blended array of flavors.

2015 Vintage
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a deep golden orange topped by a soapy half finger of off white head which fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing.
S: Smells of wine casks, light sourness, tangerine and stone fruit
T: Slightly tart up front with a good bit of tangerine flavor with some apricot, strong wine barrel flavor as well, with a little minerality and grape skin. On the swallow there's more wine cask, tangerine, apricot, sourness, and slight minerality. Vanilla is there a little but is mostly gone at this point.
M: This beer has a moderate amount of body with a slightly slick and syrupy feel on the palate. Carbonation is a little far down on the low end while the beer has a drying finish from the acidity.
O: Overall this isn't a bad beer. The release differs a little from what was first brewed. The wine barrel comes across surprisingly well with some nice fruit notes. Overall good complexity and interesting to drink. It would be interesting to see how this would taste properly carbonated.

I was lucky enough to try this on my recent vacation. Bottle said 2015 so I assume this was one of the more recent releases based on product description. Smells fruity, tastes amazing - tart but not super sour, doesn't linger - highly recommended.

7500ml corked/caged bottle served in a small Kirin glass. 2015 bottle.
Pours slightly hazy with almost no head and very little carbonation. Smell is tart and mango-y (I'm a little surprised I'm calling it mango even though the bottle says tangerine). Some booze and vanilla and wood.
Taste is very tart, vanilla and wood and booze, more tangerine than mango now.
Mouthfeel is flattish and a little oily. Overall, it's tasty and I like it.

Where did I have this? Might have been the Bruery anniversary party? Either way, glad I had it without having to buy a $30 bottle. Pours a deep burnt orange, good tan like head 1/3" that quickly disappears. Aroma of rum, tangerine and apricot. Big lactic feels.
Those lactic feels continue on, this is a nice layered beer, some citrus (well not some, there is a lot) in here in the form of tangerine and apricot skins and fruit. Cascade does a great job as usual in taking a high abv beer and making it very sour and easy to drink relative to its high abv. A pretty neat beer, I don't think its worth the price tag, but I would gladly take a pour of it anytime. But if you're looking for a rum and citrus sour kick, this one is on point for your desires.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, blue session. Aroma has honey, fruity and floral notes. Taste is tart, acidic, citrusy with a light vinegar note. Quite harsh on the palate.
