A- Pours a good-looking light orange with a large, sudsy, off-white head. Quite clear, no hop haze.
S- Smells very green and fresh. A decent shot of grapefruit and other non-descript citrus. A hint of malt in the background. Not bad, but would like more complexity with the hops.
T- Hop bitterness, some crystal malt, light grapefruit flavor, but its much more focused on hop bitterness than flavor. Taste basically disappears from the palate after swallowing. Disappointing.
M- Pretty standard for an IPA, medium bodied. Fairly strong carbonation. Finishes dry.
D- One or two cans goes down fine (and by that, I mean that's all I will probably ever have), nothing great here to keep me coming back.
Overall, will not buy in the future. Too boring, and too expensive for what it is.

Draught: This one pours a darker hazy orangish color. There was very little head on it. Nice aroma. Big whiff of pine hops. Some grapefruit and orange in the background. The taste is good. A nice hop bite. Mainly pine hops to the taste. There is a decent malt body behind it. Some earthiness. Nice

Baxter makes some of of the best beer out there, not sure what it is about is Maine (ie: Peak Organic.Shipyard,Gearys)..may be the water,,this IPA is even better on draft and is my first choice these days when i can find it...if Baxter does it its done right..if they make a style you like ,you will love theirs

Thanks to mjg0725 for this beer, one amongst a small flotilla that landed on my stoop recently. I'm already suspicious, though. Any IPA that advertises it's "malt backbone", well, that's not why I drink IPAs. Keep the mind open, max. 12 oz. can.
The pour is always a bit of a mystery coming out of a solid container; this one proves to be a clear orange. Even after allowing it to warm a bit, there's little coming off the beer's surface. Little citrus & little sweetness.
Stowaway IPA is true to its packaging as a malty IPA. Caramel licks the forelock up front, though there are some citrus & pine backing it up, with a medium chop of bitterness in the mid-palate. Floral to the point of cheap perfume on the back end, an odd counterpoint. Almost soapy. Mouthfeel might be the apex of this brew, a nice resin feel to it. I could drink plenty of this, but why?
If this beer were a movie it would be Legally Blonde. Decent enough, mildly amusing, but nothing you'd want to grab more than once.

Poured into my 13 tulip glass, on 11/19/13. Pours a bright orange, with a sticky to inch off white, that coats the glass with lace. Smell is tangerine, pine, graipfruit, and mango. Taste follows the nose, but the grapefruit really stands out in a good way. Body medium, plenty of life, not overly dry, and goes easy. Wow this nice and man did they make the most of the 69 IBUs, really some excellent bitterness, but tropical also.
