Notes/Commercial Description:
Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning, give this beer its crisp, clean, hoppy finish. Deep amber-to-orangish in color, Stowaway pours with a nice, creamy head; a huge hop aroma of citrus, pine and grapefruit notes; and a big, complex, and intense hop flavor from the 5 different hop varieties and double-dry-hopping procedure used in making this beer. The malt flavor up-front turns dry and crisp; Stowaway is full-bodied but with a dry finish and pleasant, long-lasting, hop aftertaste. This I.P.A. definitely leaves you wanting more.

A: Clear golden yellow in color. Forms a very large fluffy white head that fills the glass. Head slowly falls to a thick, stiff, rocky head. Lots of lacing.

S: Aroma is potent, but not overly exciting. There is fairly nondescript "bitterness" to the aroma. Sort of like a combination between the smell of carbonation and biscuit malt. Maybe some citrus rind.

T: Taste has that same quality. There is a fairly sturdy pale malt backbone along with a little caramel malts. Then there is that plain bitterness. Like grapefruit pith. Very little actual flavor.

M: On the lighter side of medium. Appreciable bitterness. Moderate carbonation.

O: A decent beer. Drinkable, but lacking any appreciable character.

Draught: This one pours a darker hazy orangish color. There was very little head on it. Nice aroma. Big whiff of pine hops. Some grapefruit and orange in the background. The taste is good. A nice hop bite. Mainly pine hops to the taste. There is a decent malt body behind it. Some earthiness. Nice
