Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass. Thanks Toasterchef!
A real great head color on this, mocha chocolate brown! Whipped up bubbles it looks like dessert! Settles at a nice slow pace leaving leopard like brown spots of lace. Body is quite dark almost black, but just giving some brown sense of dark walnut.
Nose is umm, sort of yeasty sticky and off putting at first. There's some good quality ripping grain and husk action to this, a bit dry, a little bit of milk chocolate sense too. Not too bad, but first whiff wasn't that great.
Palate lacks a little bit with an almost wet body. Light cigarette ash like quality for charring, a solid toasty aroma fills the bill. Feel comes off a little fleeting in the aftertaste. Warmth brings out some cola like flavors too, and there's a bit of a noticeable hop presence of pine but a little bit burried.
Overall not too bad, has some great qualities, drinkable and certainly doesn't feel big at 6.8, well hidden.

Can poured into a tulip glass, special thanks to ChrisL24481
Appearance: Dark , nice thick head that left nice lacing on the glass. Looks like a great stout
Aroma: I got lots of chocolate and cream. Lots of dark malts. Maybe some vanilla and possible spice?
Taste: Body tastes of chocolate and roasted malts. Maybe some coffee/nutty/earthy flavor. I didn't get much hops like others. Tastes like it should be a stronger beer. Last gulp seemed to have a bit more alcohol punch to it
Mouthfeel: medium to full body. Pleasant creamy feel but not overwhelmingly creamy.
Overall: Aptly named dark stout. It has the strong chocolate and malt flavors of some big beers but without the high ABV. Got this in a trade so I'm not sure about the cost but I could easily drink more of this in one sitting. Pleasantly surprised with this one. Complexity you don't expect from a canned beer and very drinkable. Maybe my scores for this are a bit high due to the heavy stouts I've been tasting lately but I really liked this.
