This clearly states on the label that is was brewed and bottled by Elevator Brewing, Columbus, OH. Pours a pale slightly hazed bright golden hue fizzy white head dwindles pretty quickly with fine speckled lacing scattered around my mug. Aromatics offer up light cereal notes, with hints of lemon lime citrus notes herbal grassy components kicking as well. Flavor is clean with a lemon citrus kick going on with pale cereal grains giving it a nice flavor. Finishes with herbal grassy light hop notes and a bit of fruitiness. Mouthfeel overall is light bodied with a tad much in carbonation levels. Does finish pretty bone dry nothing too cloying or offensive it feels like there's lemon flavoring at times, I don't know the whole background on Ohio Brewing but it seems like they have a new location in Akron without a pub or they are now being contracted by Elevator Brewing out of Columbus. Overall a decent golden ale, just seems like their IPA I had on tap blows this one away when it comes to quality.

The color is a bit darker than the typical Kolsch, a clear dark gold. Effervescent bubbling activity helps to keep up a creamy pure white head to a finger in height. There's spotty lacing until a thick sheet a few inches in width is deposited in the middle. Interesting. It looks good overall.
The smell offers malts on the dry side with a touch of sulfur, but not as much as I find in the flavor. It's also grassy with some notes of hazy. Crackers meld with an herbal note with a very light bitterness. The style is light, yes, but there could be more to it.
This isn't a bad Kolsch, but it's not the one I'd offer someone who wants to know about the style. True, it's dry and herbacious, but I'd want a bit more of the vinous notes it should have. It's also a bit too sulfuric and not as clean as it could be, with a metallic finish. It also ends up tasting a little thin at the end. None of these are extremes, so I'd consider it average. It may be a good stepping stone to getting into the style, but there's a lot of depth and flavor to go from here on.
Again, yes, light style, but it gets just a touch watery, thinner than it should be. It is crisp, and the smoothness keeps it going with the carbonation is just right.

12 oz bottle, 5% abv. Clear straw golden color. A few streaming bubbles, and some clinging to the glass. Fizzy white head holds for a couple minutes, then fades with virtually no trace.

Pale, slightly grainy malt. Faint fruity notes, with a slightly floral, earthy finish.

Pale malt, not as grainy as the nose indicated. Perhaps a bit of a cracker feel. Flashes of fruity notes that fade quickly. Finish is pretty decent, with a flash of earthy hops. Fairly clean and crisp all around.

Light body, with a good amount of carbonation. Very easy to drink.

It is gold with some bubbles. It's clear with no real head or lacing. There's a nice herbal scent there. This feels like a lager. It's quite crisp with some grassy undertones. There's a sweet grape taste in the back of the mouth. It's nice all around.

On-tap at King's Table, Beavercreek, OH

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that has excellent retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of grassy hops and biscuity malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of biscuit malts along with some hints of white grapes. Hints of sweet fruits are also perceptible.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied and somewhat crisp and dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink-it just isn't as vineous compared to other kölschs.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. Pours a corn-yellow with a thin white head.

Thin malty smell, some grains and grass, with a slight amount of wet straw.

Malty tasting, somewhat sweet and creamy, with a fair amount of grassiness. Faint hop bitter at the end to balance out the sweetness early on.

Medium bodied.

As I am unfamiliar with the style, it is hard for me to say if this mets the style. Standing alone, I find it decent enough, but not a beer I'd want to go back to on a regular basis.

My buddies and I decided to take a mini tour of this microbrewery on one fine rainy day in akron, Ohio.
The brewer is the most down-to-earth beer-lover I have ever met. He decided to give us a little sampling of his offerings after showing of his tanks. This is one of the only Kolsch's I have had other than the sam Adams... This one wins. It is a golden clear with inviting carbonation bubbles populating the side of the tasting cup. The smell is an inviting effervescent bouquet of malt and a slight bit of hops. The taste is crisp, refreshing, golden, and prickly, from the carbonation. This is the perfect session beer. Mouthfeel is light and delightful. If you are ever in Akron Ohio, call the brewry up and ask for a tour. This is probably one of the best rainy days I have had in awhile.

A- pours a verichy gold color, hazy yellow with a stiff white head leaving little swirls of lace and well defined rings. seems more viscous than other versions of the style 4

S- definitely kolschy! buttered biscuits and vaporous leafy hop aroma. somewhat creamy vanilla and soapy floral. 3.5

T- toasty and grainy with very floral hop presence, an even sweetness, and lingering mild bitterness at the end. 3.5

MF- fuller bodied than others, but still juicy light and refreshing. finishes dry on the old cheeks with a numbing sensation from the prickly carbonation. 4

D- for a style that's meant to be drinkable i guess this one hits the mark. not too outlandish and americanized, aside from the feel. 4.5

Pours a clean yellow-ish color with a small white head. In the aroma, a small dryness with lager tones. In the taste, a small dryness, earthy, with a note of citrus and lager tones all the way through. A small bite and lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry earthiness and lager like aftertaste. Nice earthiness n a lager, also enjoyed the small citrus like notes.

Poured into a Samuel Smith pint glass on 10/19/11

Light, faded straw-yellow; pretty clear save for a bit of chill haze. One and a half finger head of white foam dissipates to a much thinner, soapy layer. Hardly any lace.

Right out of the bottle it smelled ok, with notes of grass, pollen, cut hay and a suggestion of prairies. After the head drops, less suited aromas emerge; vegetal notions (not cooked, thankfully), damp straw and something that makes me think of popcorn flavored jelly beans.

First drink: wow, it's a shame the aroma set the bar so... high? My first impressions are, in this order: watery, carbonation, metallic. This is a case of where the feel and flavors are clustered to the point there's hardly any distinguishing the two. Very grassy and rather grainy, too. Dusty biscuit notes on the finish. Very, very dry. Carbonation simmers a bit over time, but the metallic flavor remains.

Verich Gold doesn't turn out to be as bad as my first impression would have me believe. That said, it doesn't turn out very good, either. I drain-poured half of it.

A - weak fizzy bright white head with quickly diminishing lacing; clear with yellow straw colored hue

S - light grassy scent

T - light faintly sweet, finish is short and weak, slightly disappointed with the strength of flavor

M - light body with watery texture, mildly fizzy carbonation, finish unremarkable

O - Fairly simple Kolsch style beer, easy to drink, fairly smooth with no odd flavors or smells, taste is clean, but otherwise unremarkable.

Pours a light gold in color. Bone white head that did not last for long. Aroma is pretty grainy, without a lot of hops which was a bit disappointing. Was hoping for some more hops but if anything they add just a mild grassyness. A light bodied lager, which seems like it would be a popular choice for someone not into craft beers. Not neccessarily bad, but a very light brew without a whole lot else going on.

Served from the bottle into a pilsner glass

A- Poured a clear bright straw yellow with tons of streaming carbonation. Two finger soapy head that leaves some spotty lace.

S- Smells a lot like a pilsner. Big floral notes.

T- Very floral, quite a bit of hop bitterness on the finish, and lemon notes

M- Not quite as light as I would expect for the style, but nice smooth medium bodied beer with lots of tongue tickling carbonation. Very crisp and dry on the finish.

O- A drinkable beer that is very refreshing, not very complex in the flavor or aroma, but a very enjoyable beer.

12 oz bottle, no numbers or anything within sight on bottle.

Pours a hazed light-straw color. White head soon becomes a wisp that laces the glass. Smell is crisp, herbal, and lemon-y. Taste has a grassy, bitter bite to the front of it, but has a smoother finish. Feels ok, and is carbonated well. A crisp, decent beer for the style

Pours a clear, golden color. A thin white head is created on the pour but with continuous carbonation the head laces throughout the drink.
Smell is great on this beer for a kolsch. Strong biscuity, wheat smell. A bit of a European-like hop smell as well.
Taste is nice for a kolsch. Clean biscuit taste. Very fresh tasting.
Mouthfeel is very nice. Nice smoothness, but a good carbonation as well. The carbonation is very crisp and refreshing.
Drinkability is very nice on this beer. I am not normally a big fan of the Kolsch style. This is one of the better ones I've ever had though. A local beer that is less notorious, but much better than another local Cleveland beer that is VERY overrated. Try this offering from Ohio brewing instead.

Looks like a kölsch to me. Flavor is a bit mote hearty than I am used to for the style. Much more grain than typical. It still comes together well enough and has a nice feel to it. This is a nice beer, but as far as a kölsch goes, too much grain and not quite smooth enough. The carbonation is a bit high too.

A - Pours a clear golden with visible carbonation rising to the top and a half-finger of white head. The head disapates quickly and leaves little lacing behind.

S - Smells strongly of malt and hops, which is right on par for a kolsch.

T - Just as it smells with malts and the bitter, earthy hops assaulting the pallet. There was also a hint of wheat mixed in which gave it a nice balanced taste.

F/D - Smooth and light on the pallet. Very refreshing and easy to drink in the bar setting. An over all decent brew, I could see this as a standby barroom beer.
