This is one of the best Stout’s I’ve had this season, huge fan. Great flavor and body. Bit on the light side for drinking which is perfect as stouts usually full you up quick. Would recommend this and blue pants’ other stouts highly.

Poured out of a bottle into a pint glass. Thin, tan head that didn't last long. Very dark, like a stout should be. I didn't pick up too much on smell, maybe slightly hoppy and toasty. It has a very carbonated feel in your mouth which was surprising, but not unpleasant, I actually liked it, Felt more like a lager than a thick stout. I was picking up a metallic twang to the taste, especially when getting the beer residue left on my mustache, which was not very favorable. But besides that, I'd say this is a good beer. 8% alc, but went down surprisingly easy. I'd definitely buy again

The tiny bubbles on the side take a long time to slide back down through the thick legs. It does look a bit more like what would usually be called a porter; it's a bit of a translucent brown around the edges. That makes it looks a tad thin, but it has decent head retention, which balances the look a bit.
The smells is a ton of chocolate and grains. Vanilla is present, but the smell is dominated by the chocolate and a sort of nuttiness. The lactose sweetness also comes through clearly.
The flavor is not overwhelmingly sweet and has just a tiny hint of bitterness on the finish. It's also chocolatey and little bit nutty.
Feel is decent for a stout. It's a little bit on the thin side, which makes it a little less satisfying than it would have been otherwise.
When I saw this in the fridge, I assumed that it was a new batch. It wasn't until after I opened the bottle that I noticed the date: bottled May 2015. It's over a year old. I think that explains why it's not coming across as rich as I remember. This one of the first beers I had after moving to Alabama, so I might just be nostalgic.

Poured into a taster glass. Thanks, Biggs. The date on the bottle said it was from April of 2015, so this is over a year old.
A: Shoe polish brown with a one finger tan head that lingered. Thick lacing.
S: Toasted cocoa, chocolate and some lactose.
T: For a year old, this was pretty good. Rich, robust, sweet and smokey. Follows nose with lots of cocoa nibs, dark chocolate, vanilla and light lactose. Like a Double Stuff.
M: Thick and chewy with medium to heavy carbonation. A bit chalky.
O: One of our group said it would've tasted better fresher, but I thought it was pretty decent. Would love to try fresh.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Just bought a few days ago on vacation, but found out it may be pretty old.
Pours a deep brown, mostly opaque, with no real head and some lacing. Smells really good, lots of roasted malt, and chocolate. Also, vanilla, light coffee, a little smoke. Taste also leads with the roasted malt and chocolate, good amount of vanilla, molasses, some bitterness throughout. The flavors are blended and balanced. Smooth. good body, the taste lingers. A little flat, but I'm chalking that up to the age. Didn't really pick up the lactose.
Really enjoyed this. The cacao and vanilla add- ins were flavorful and prominent in both the aroma and flavor. I do believe the age of the bottle affected the carbonation and the appearance (no head), so I marked up the feel and look a quarter. Well worth a purchase for a fresher bottle.

A: Dark brown, 1 inch head on gentle pour.
S: Sweet Chocolate.
T: Chocolate is not as sweet or present in the taste, and
somewhat artificial tasting. This is better then Candy Bar
Stout, but still rather one dimensional.
F: Too much carbonation. My buddy and I had the Candy bar
followed by this, and I felt unpleasantly full after two beers.
O: A step up from Candy Bar but below average.
