A great golden amber color to this beer. Very carbonated. A fingers worth of foam. Taste was of a standard lager....which is fitting based on the name. Rather fizzy on the tongue that leaves a clean pallet. Flavors unlock as it warms up...a mild caramel and nuttyness to my taste. A decent lager.

Appearance: murky orange with gentle streams of carbonation. Very little head.
Smell: very subtle and understated. Very gentle maltiness?
Taste: wow. Assertive, slightly funky hop presence right across the middle of the tongue. A very backgrounded matliness. The flavour ends cleanly, leaving a lingering hop bitterness across the whole of my mouth.
Mouthfeel: slick and juicy with a lively carbonation.
Overall: I just mowed the lawn. This was the perfect beer to drink after that :)

12 ounce bottle -> snifter
A - hazy medium amber with a foamy one inch head, good retention, and good lacing
S - very weak nose, mostly bready notes
T - starts off with a apple taste and caramel malt sweetness, and finishes with a hop bitterness. Rye is present as well. Unfortunately so is a big metallic note.
M - a little watery with carbonation that can produce some earth shaking belching.
O - this was a miss for me. I have liked every offering from Blue Pants so far, but this one was not up to par from what I have gotten used to from them.

Tasted On: 06-06-2013
Freshness: Not indicated
Packaging: 12 oz. brown bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Globe glass
Purchased: 6-pack from Great Spirits, Huntsville AL
A: Amber, partly cloudy beer capped by a small, off-white head. The head retention is OK, with a low amount of lace.
S: Spicy and citrus hops, with some woody and earthy tones, but not a lot of aromas.
T: Vegetable flavors, plus spiciness and then fairly bitter hop character make up the taste.
M: Body is medium with an average amount of carbonation. The aftertastes have more vegetable flavor and a fairly hoppy bitter finish.
O: So, I would not have guessed this to be a California Common beer; it reminded me more of an American amber ale. I though the beer was OK, but not one I'd seek again.
