Our Hefeweizen is a golden unfiltered wheat beer with it’s origins from Bavaria. We ferment it with a traditional German yeast strain which produces a unique spicy fruitiness and wonderful carbonation. Malted red wheat gives it a light crisp body and dense white head. Please sit back and enjoy our summertime seasonal beer!

On tap at Sebago. Cloudy golden color with thin, lasting white foam, this one's a bit too bubbly for my liking. Aromas of ripe fruit, mostly banana. Some spice and wheat come through in the flavor, though not as much yeastiness as I enjoy. Not bad, but somewhat boring.

The hallmarks of a quality hefeweizen is it's ability to delineate itself from a Belgian white (which relies on it's fusion of many spices), by highlighting it's unfiltered, raw ale qualities that many other lighter beers don't possess. The last hefeweizen I had from Mission St. (considered a bargain beer primarily sold at Trader Joes) was a bottle filled to the brim with visible swirling yeast that really magnified every sip, and tasted like the sum of it's ingredients, not the "spice rack" that is so present in witbier. Sebago's Hefeweizen, while not bad, just doesn't taste like a true hefeweizen to me; it relies on the banana and citrus flavors that shouldn't be it's strongpoints.

A: Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Pint glass. A clear yellow brew almost a light golden. Couldn't get a good look at the head, but it seemed lighter with no to quite little lacing.
S: Quite an interesting smell with a hint of wheat and honey.
T: A strong banana scent with honey and wheat. Quite a tasty Hefeweizen. Definitely the best part of the beer.
M: A standard brew, nice and carbonated brew with a crisp taste.
O: A great beer for $3.49 a six pack. Got it on sale so I can't complain. Not sure I'd recommend it a friend, but I would if the price stayed the same.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Cloudy orange color with a thin white head.
Smell: Cloves, wheat. Some sweet smells too.
Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium to light bodied. Taste of wheat and cloves.
Overall: Decent take on a Hefenweizen, it was refreshing for sure. However I would not go out of my way to buy this beer again, but I woud not refuse if offered to me.
