I drank this out of a snifter, so the color might be a bit skewed.
A - Dark amber with reddish hues. This almost has the color of a barleywine.
S - An overwhelming amount of tropical fruit. I'm actually picking up a lot of mango and pineapple. Some malt carries through as well.
T - The rich crystal malt backbone of this IPA is coupled with the harsh bitterness of the hops. Again, tropical fruit notes right before the bite of the hops hits your tongue. There's just enough bitterness to balance it, and you get a hint of caramel and chocolate notes. This isn't the standard DIPA super bitter/hoppy beer that you expect when you hear DIPA. It's well balanced with the hops being the highlight of the beer.
M - Lightly carbonated. Again, I keep coming back to comparing this to a Barleywine. The alcohol is present as it warms, but is fairly well-hidden.
Overall, this is a great beer. I think it'd be interesting to cut down the IBUs and turn this into more of an American Strong Ale. The bitterness from the hops takes a little away from the malt characteristics.

Rare cask serving from Three Crow Restaurants one year anniversary party.
Had Several of these from the cask , great smell and aroma, citrus and hops. Warm hazy appearance
taste very flavorful lots or resonance all the way through.
Got better even as it warmed more. Great offering,
I will need to compare to next bottle serving
