Frye's Leap IPA is an intense experience. It is a hoppy medium-bodied ale and is full of character. From the caramel malt which gives our IPA its golden color to the distinct fruity hoppiness, this beer is every bit as exciting as its namesake, the popular cliffs on Sebago Lake. Enjoy this refreshing beer with seafood, spicy foods and all things grilled. Take the Leap!

From the can it pours a clear brassy golden color. A thumbnail length foam head retains well. It yields lacing and frothy patches of film.

The nose is fruity and citrusy with bright notes of orange and grapefruit. Herbal aromas of pine along with a perceived bitterness.

West coast style bitterness all throughout with sweet and mouth coating of sturdy and biscuity malt. Piney and resiny spices along with pithy flavors of grapefruit rind and orange juice. Medium body with a moderate to lively carbonation. The mouthfeel is prickly with hops flavors. The finish is dry and citrusy with a resinous bitterness.

This was a nice West Coast IPA I would definitely revisit. It deserves better ratings in my opinion.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled very malty and earthy. Some pine in the nose. Very malty taste with pine and caramel. Not enough bitter or sweet to balance the malt.

Had a can while returning to Camden, ME from a water tour aboard the Lively Lady of Isleboro and the surrounding ocean on the afternoon of 9-1-19.

Beer was drank out of the can directly so no option to see it.

Nose was of light floral and lightly fruited hops.

Taste was slightly off with a smaller malt base, floral and slightly grapefruit and pine. Finish was a tad off being sweet yet having a bitterness that did not fit; 6/10 on my scale.

Mouthfeel was medium bodied and not overly smooth nor refreshing.

Overall not a bad beer but nothing to seek out in this day and age of the modern ipa.

Taste was a little off
