Murphy’s is an internationally recognized Irish stout, brewed since 1856 in the iconic Lady’s Well Brewery, Cork.

Classified as an Irish Dry Stout, Murphy’s is dark in color and medium-bodied. It is silky smooth with toffee & coffee undertones, almost no bitterness, and a irresistible creamy finish.

Pours near black from the widget nitro can, very slow to settle out to 1" creamy head, very good retention and lacing. Nose is roasted barley, milk chocolate syrup, coffee milk; increasingly metallic as it warms. Taste is pretty light without a ton of expression; a little bit of sweet cream and metallic roasted malts and barely. Found this by far the least flavorful of a round of other nitro Irish stouts. Mouthfeel is very soft and pillowly to start, though it begins to thin out after ~10 minutes or so.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! My local store was sold out of Guinness so I ended up with this.... It also appears to have the nitrogen release which gives you that awesome cascading effect .... Really good and rivals the classic Guinness.

Nearly black, light tan head.
Not a lot to smell. Slightly sweet flavor. Dark Chocolate, coffee are dominant. If s very smooth with very little bitterness.
At 4% abv these are quite light. Very drinkable.

Sweeter and less bitter than Guinness. But i prefer Ohara's still.

14.9 oz (440 ml) can chilled for at least 2 hours in fridge then poured into an imperial pint glass. at first glance jet black but held up to light some ruby highlights. slight aroma of barley, grains, grass but still smells like beer. Nice off white head of foam and lacing. taste was slightly sweet but not cloying. no idea of the ibus but probably very low. low abv makes for good sessions. feel is creamy and smooth. very rich as well. overall not a bad stout. i prefer this to guinness tbh. although an irish beer from dublin's sister city cork, mine says brewed and canned in edinburgh, scotland under the supervision of cork, etc. not that i really mind. lol. on a side note if you like murphy's you will probably like belhaven scottish stout. just my 2 cents.

My go to pint a home. Similar to Guinness Draught but with a more rich and robust flavor. Fantastic beer that you could easily drink a few without it feeling too rich or heavy.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Poured from a nitro can. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a three finger nitro style, khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Looks nice. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, light coffee and hints of lactose. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt with slight char, drip coffee, cocoa and mild lactose. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess due to the nitro can pour, which worked quite well. I was surprised to see I had never reviewed this as I've had it many times in the past. Perhaps being a big conglomerate brew it forgot about it. Glad I decided to tick this, it's quite pleasant. The flavor is rather attenuated, but strong enough for a 4% beer, and the flavor profile is quite nice. There's light char and good coffee and cocoa character. Although the flavor is a bit thin, what's there is fine and the nitro-like pour gives it a pleasant body that makes it feel and taste good. I'd get this again.

Very similar to Guinness, a bit more flavor going on. Definitely a big milk chocolate character, kinda reminds me of a thin milkshake if I'm being honest. Slightly roasty, mild coffee note. Like with Guinness, this beer is best drank quickly before the head dissipates, and it is very crushable, but I like to savor my beer a little more. I'll still stick with Guinness Extra/Foreign Extra for my Irish Stout needs, but the nitro novelty is nice every now and then.
