look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Pitch black with a one finger tan creamy head.

Aroma: As with most nitro beers the aroma is a bit diminished and some of the nitro smell is present. Under that there are faint toasted malts and a hint of roasted coffee.

Taste: It always surprises me how Irish Dry Stouts can be so watery yet enjoyable. The only discernible flavors are light roasted dark malts and bits of toffee. Finish is every bit as smooth as the surface of the head and there is a bitter coffee aftertaste. 4% ABV actually seems quite potent for how thin the beer is.

Mouthfeel: Thin in body with just a hint of carbonation. Superbly smooth, drinkable, and sessionable.

Final Thoughts: The use of a nitro-canning definitely improves this beer and makes it one that anyone can enjoy. Would I drink it again? Most likely but I don't often seek it out.

Serving type: nitro-can

Nitro can was poured into a Samuel Smith imperial pint glass.

Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that for the most part is still there. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. That is expected. Frothy lacing on the glass all the way down.

Smell: Roasted coffee, bready oats, toffee, caramel, chocolate, a little smoke, and earthy aromas.

Taste: Same as above blended well together. Very tasty for a 4% nitro beer.

Mouthfeel: Creamy smooth, lite bodied, a little chewy, some bitterness, and low to medium carbonation.

Overall: This beer can't do no wrong. Easy to drink and delicious. More please.

Poured a deep, dark brown, with a ruby-tint towards the bottom of the glass. A creamy khaki head lasts throughout the beer and leave some nice lacing. The aroma is very sweet, think very dark caramel, with just a hint of burnt grain. The taste is very malty with a nice earthy hops finish. It's thinner along the style of dry stout and is just a great stout.
