L-Light, somewhat cloudy, straw colored body that has a large presence of carbonation. One finger soapy head.
S-Funky brett and barnyard, sugary orange juice up front, followed by a sour squeeze of lemon, and finished with tangy apple juice. Sour candy.
T- The taste starts with a punch of lemon and lime, followed by a sweet apple note that morphs into a grainy, slightly earthy and funky backbone. Very subtle notes of clove, nutmeg and bread. The flavors are not very strong, and are more delicate than expected.
F-Very crisp and dry. The carbonation is lively and ever-present.
O-Once again, a very well made saison from Jester King. Subtle, yet complex and rewarding. Fruity, and candy like without being overly sweet. Funky, earthy and weird. Everything I want in a saison!

From a bottle into a tecnu. Batch #7, June 2022. About $15 for 25.4 fl oz.

Refreshing and easy drinking.

A - Pours a very clear very light straw yellow. Pilsner colored. With a large white short lived head, but with a lasting film across the glass. Well carbonated.

S - Lemon-lime but not overwhelming. Some barnyard but hiding the lemon lime.

T - A welcoming tartness but not sour or acidic.

MF - Light bodied with a dry finish.

Poured into a tulip glass, this beer pours a pretty clear golden color with a nice white head about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles to a thin white ring surrounding the inside of the glass. Not much lacing. Aromas of lime and lemon citrus sourness, bready malts and saltine crackers, and some yeasty barnyard funk. Tastewise, this starts off with the aforementioned bready malts with a hint of cracker, lime and lemon citrus sour notes, and some barnyard funky yeast notes. Really, an excellent flavor profile here. Unique for a saison with the amount of sourness here, and it works really well here. Has a fairly crisp, also smooth and frothy, medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. has a clean finish, and all the flavors linger on my palate nicely for the aftertaste.

January, 2019 bottle:
A significantly blurring haze on this beer's pale yellow body support mountains of white meringue. As craters form and the level of head falls, large globs stick to the glass. Long-lasting head continues to produce striations of lace as the beer is drunk.

Initial impression of the nose is that of a 7-Up - though not as sweet. With just a little scrutiny, the lime stands out a little more and a certain familiar dusty attic note comes out.

The taste showcases the lemon first and foremost. A prickly carbonation hits the tip of my tongue but seems to fade by the time the liquid hits my gullet. Along the way, the beer is pretty dry the whole way through, but the farmhouse dust and hay seem to take it to arid by the end. Lime makes an appearance near the end, along with a little pop of herbs - something along the lines of cilantro and mint.

Initial thoughts were that the sour citrus took over the beer and didn't play well with the beer to which they were added. I liked it more as I drank and the components seem to work out their differences. The beer is perhaps a bit too dry, and I tend to like my saisons dry. Overall, this isn't my favorite JK beer, but it is another one I wouldn't mind drinking again.

Hazy pale straw with a fat finger of close-to-rocky, bright-white head. Modest lacing. Tart aroma with hints of citrus and strong wheat bread character. The taste follows with some mineral water added, woody-yeasty note and a little bitterness in the finish. Light to medium bodied with tonic water carbonation. Very refreshing hot weather brew that comes across as a saison / wild ale hybrid.

Cloudy light golden with a low to moderate white head and decent lacing.
Aroma: Lime heavy citrus rind dominate a bready, lactic acidity.
Taste: Starts with a funky acidic lime, that accelerates in intensity. A touch of bready maltiness underneath, but the lactic acidity and sharp lime peel tartness dominate the overall flavor.
Mouthfeel: Fairly light bodied with a high carbonation.
Finish: Wild yeast funkiness stands out the most in the finish, just above the lemon and lime citrus tartness.
Overall: There’s a really good saison here with a wild yeast complexity, but the lemon/lime citrus tends to be overpower the whole experience, from the aroma thru the finish. If the lemon/lime was toned done, there would be a hell of a beer here

Bottle from 2015

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a light and bright straw colored yellow which is topped by a finger and a half of dense and slightly rocky white head which fades slowly to a small mat with minimal lacing
S: Smells of slight tartness, spice, and some lemon and lime zest. Pretty straightforward
T: Taste is slightly funky and tart up front with some hints of barnyard and horseblanket. Touch of white pepper spice at times too. Nice lemon and lime zest coming in as well to mix things up along with a touch of malt sweetness. On the finish we have some more light tarness, lemon and lime zest and a little more lingering funk.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of things but it is not watery. Carbonation is effervescent and adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this beer is super enjoyable. Really nice flavors and some solid complexity make this on a real pleasure to drink. Definitely a nice representation of the style but the wild fermentation notes may not be for everyone.

this is so delicate and good, a funky light saison with lemons and limes. the beer is super pale in color, lightly hazy and very heady, with a pungent nose of fresh lemon and lie zest, almost like a sprite soda or something, slightly sweet from the fruit but also slightly sour from it, nice with the tartness from the classic jester king yeast profile, which is now so familiar to me and so famous, one of my favorite house cultures anywhere. i love the brightness of this, some nice fruity brett matching well with the citrus, and the lemon and lime in equal proportion to one another, but perhaps with a slight edge to the lime when i really focus in, bitter and pithy to me, as well as oily and zesty. i also get light orange and green apple to this, a veritable fruit salad or white sangria here, with some cool drying sourness from the bacterial element in the fermentation. absolutely bone dry and sparkling in carbonation. the summery, almost cocktail-esque fresh lemon and lime are a nice combination of flavors. super drinkable and refreshing, another winner from one of the best!
