On tap at the Meddlesome Moth in Dallas. This is aged in George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey barrels.

The beer pours a brown/dark amber color with a tan head. The aroma is very nice, but I don't get much whiskey. What I do get is chocolate and toasted malts, as well as a little bit of oak.

The flavor is heavy on the chocolate and toffee with some oak mixed in as well. I also get some hints of maple, but not any real whiskey characteristics.

Thin to medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This beer, like the original version, is a little bit watery, but that is expected when a beer is barely more than 3 percent ABV.

A very interesting beer, but I can't really tell much, if any difference between this beer and the regular Commercial Suicide, which is also barrel aged, just not whiskey barrel aged. There is no whiskey in the flavor or aroma. The beer is still good, I just wish the whiskey aspects came through. Still, this is an immensely flavorful beer and at 3.2 percent ABV, a beer you can drink all night.

OK, this is a strange one. I had this on tap at Queen Vic in Houston. A barrel aged version of Commercial Suicide (which is barrel aged to begin with). From everything that I have read this is still the same ABV as the base beer.

A: Pours a dark, opaque brown. Nearly black color. A one finger white head forms, and recedes to leave some lacing behind.
S: Vanilla and chocolate are big and up front. Lots of toasted malt. Bread and biscuit aromas. Dry wood/oak lingers on as well. I love it so far.
T: Follows the nose. Lots of vanilla and chocolate flavors. Oak is very strong as well. A great toasted malt flavor. Some sweet toffee, bread, and biscuit. Really well incorporated.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. A bit thin. So easy to drink. Easily all day with this one.

Well done Jester King. Very unique and something I enjoy whenever I see it.

A - dark brown, ruby highlights, thin off-white head leaving a little lacing

S - vanilla, oak, whiskey, chocolate, coffee

T - holy hell this is nice. More vanilla, oak, whiskey, chocolate and roast melded really nicely

M/D - medium to medium thin mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. The taste, body and low ABV make this beer very easy to drink.

Tried on tap at Jester King, 29 Jan 2010. Served in the Jester King snifter.

Appearance is very similar to the base beer. Small light brown head quickly dissipates. Lightly carbonated. Slightly darker brown than regular commercial suicide. Aroma is a bit better, slightly smoky, a little chocolate. Some chocolate astringency. A little whiskey presence. Tasty without being overpowering. Slight touch of coffee in the finish.
