Mature beer, refermented in oak barrels with wild yeast and souring bacteria is blended with fresh, dry-hopped beer prior to bottle-conditioning. Dry and lightly tart, with notes of citrus, barnyard, and tropical fruit.

I dunno if I had a blend or just combined beer names mash up drunk style, but my entry said prince wunderkind. I've had prince before, so I presume it was this beer.

Pours a cloudy yellow indicative of the saison style. 2/5" white head. Cool aroma that hits like a blend of a hoppy beer and a traditional barrel (re)fermented saison. Has that spontaneous aspect mild funkiness, oak, wheat, hay, lemon and even some light tropical hop notes. Does it well.

The taste is enjoyable as well. For many of the same reasons. While maintaining an airy lightness to it, there is substantial flavor that doesn't overwhelm the consumer. Its a neat varied fruit like contribution with no fruit, between the spon yeast and the unique hopping aspect, citrus, tropical without going overboard on acidity. Tame, light, flavorful stuff with just a hint of horse blanket.

Its another testament to Jester King's saison prowess that they crank this out in a relatively substantial volume year round I think.

1 PT. 9.4 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in an oversized wine glass
Blend 26 = December 2021

This beer pours a brilliant golden color and is topped with an inch of off-white head that leaves spotty lacing. Once I swirl the sediment off the bottom it becomes clouded.

It has a nice tart aroma. I get some stone fruit smells and a little bit of funk.

Sour and funky. I get some lemon and stone fruit flavors. Sour and dry finish.

Medium bodied with a dryish mouthfeel

This is what I want my saisons to taste like. I love the funk.

A - Pours out a clear golden body, very bubbly, with a dense white head that slowly fades into a full cap composed of very tight, small bubble foam. A curtain of lacing forms up down the glass.

S - Typical saison notes, of lemony citrus and grass and herbaciousness. A hint of barnyard and funk beneath, and definite plastic, which is the only downside. But very on-brand for the style.

T - Lovely tart lemony open, the grass and hop notes come in quickly behind, while stone fruit combines with limestone and earthiness through the middle. The finish is mellow and clean, with a bit of bitterness coming forward, and a lingering soft sourness to round things out.

M - Very brisk carbonation in the pour, but not aggressive on the tongue. The weight is expectedly light, given the ABV, and a subtle dry finish keeps things moving.

O - This is the kind of Saison I love the most - an easy drinking, well built ride, with lost of lovely notes to explore, and an integrated experience that just makes good sense. A clear illustration of Jester King's mastery of this style.

A very unique Saison.
It has a lemony/vinegar/garlic thing going on.
I taste something very herbal, not unlike pot stems.
It's different but in a good way.
Smells like salad dressing.

A very complex, gently sour and hoppy ale. Soft notes of citrus and apricot intermingle with a tart, grainy backbone. Very funky yeast flavors come out as it warms. The mouthfeel is soft and crisp at the same time. I love Jester King and this is one of my favorites.

My second Farmhouse ale, the first one was not that style but something different. I am hoping Jester King delivers the goods in this beer. I have a few of their beer lurking around my cellar. The beer is 45 degrees and served in a tulip glass; although, I should have used my Jester King glass for this beer. The pour of the beer created a wonderful two-fingered head. The bright white head is creamy and frothy with good retention. The head did leave some lacing as it dissipated on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 2, pale straw yellow with light golden hues. The beer is crystal clear with the occasional carbonation bubble disrupting the beauty.

The initial aromas in the beer are a funky barn, a smidge of horse blanket, and sour-like vinegar (but in a good way. Nosing further I detect lightly toasted malts, floral, herbal, lemons, dewy grass, and a subtle honey-like sweetness.

The flavors in the beer are funky barnyard, cereal grains, lemons, lightly toasted malts, wood, earthiness, floral esters, and herbal. This is a chalky limestone note I am picking up that is odd but delightful.

The mouthfeel of the beer is crisp, dry, and tart.

The body of the beer is medium-light, medium-plus carbonation, and a full finish.

Ah, this beer just hits the spot. Awesome farmhouse-style beer with the right amount of funkiness. I felt the flavor was stronger than what the nose lead me to believe. Perfect beer for today, a great break from the IPA's.

750ml, Batch #25, bottled January 2020. Opened 2-28-21.
1+ finger stark white head. Good retention in a slow fade to a solid cap.
Straw gold and brilliant clarity. Ample, sticky web of lacing.
Ripe stone fruit, citrus, Riesling grape, white wine, lemon...bright and appealing nose.
Lip smacking tartness, peach, nectarine, and grapefruit bitterness.
A hint of wild grassiness, almost Nopales type of flavor but way more tangy in scope.
Bright entry, light body, medium + carbonation. Sour/tart flash with great acidity in a quick, dry finish.
Outstanding.

Excellent blended saison. Dry, light, slightly tart, balanced funk. I want to drink this outside on a summer day. It's very clean too. Not sure how I feel about the $ to enjoyment ratio.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light pale yellow in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light aromas of sourness and citrus are present in the nose.
T: The taste is faintly sour and has flavors of funk along with notes of citrus.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and the subtle sourness adds a pleasant bit of complexity to the smell and taste.

L-Pours a hazy straw golden colored ale with a beautiful frothy and rocky head that sticks around for a long time. Delicately bubbly. Truly gorgeous.
S- Natural earthy notes, sweet apple, sour yeasty notes, oak barrel, tropical citrus (lemon, cumquat, etc.), guava and papaya, brett funkiness.
T- Follows the nose. Oaky earthiness, sour apple and yeast (brett), slight bitter bite, sweet lemon, a hint of sweet apple. Delicious, fresh and incredibly sessiobable altogether.
F- Dry finish. Light bodied. Very nice!
O- Just another wonderfully crafted saison. Jester King is a top tier brewery and this is just another incredibly delicious and drinkable saison. I can't say anything else other than this is an original deliciously crafted farmhouse.

Poured a cloudy, slightly yellow-gold body with two-finger head that sticks around for a while thanks to large carbonation. Get some yeast/wheat twang in the aroma, some slight horse blanket funk and a decent floral edge is picked up as well, and hints of something like tropical fruits. Smooth, slick, slightly tart/crisp funkiness with a lemon-like and peppery spice like crispness at times in the background. Mild yeast and fruit sweetness lie underneath the funky taste in this light to medium bodied beer. The slight hops and something akin to white wine flavor (I'm getting this fruity tannin and woody feel that reminds me of a light white for some reason) also add some complexity to beer and add to light, crisp finish.
