750ml bottle
Hill Farmstead wine glass
A: Pours a really deep deep brown. Almost black in color. Some reddish hues around the edges. Bottle was under carbonated, like others have mentioned. Pretty much the only knock on appearance is that. I did get a thin line of tan head around edges. Not leaving a lot of lacing even with a swirl.
S: Tons of coffee on the nose. Smell some Chiptole peppers coming through that body. There is some dark fruit under there too as well as some chocolate and roast. Really nice nose.
T: On the tip of the tongue you get that amazing bitter coffee flavor. Really high quality brewed coffee flavor. There is also a tingle of that pepper there too. As the sip continues, you get a nice smooth mid palate due to those oats. Chocolate. More roast coffee. And the pepper tingle comes up again in the back of the throat. Really nice.
M: It's full bodied. Carbonation issues.
