I will start this off by disclosing that sours are something I've only recently really fabled in. On to my review
Appearance is one of deep dark maroon blood red body with amazing pink lace that leaves it's foamy bubbly fingers along the sides of my glass! Beautiful to say the least. The smell is like a raspberry tart with that funk I recognize from many other JK offerings. The taste is instant with raspberry and quickly tart on the tongue with lactic tinge. This beer is such a fine example of what I like in a fruited sour to this point in my life. I really look forward to more special releases from Jester King!

A: Pours a beautiful hazed, dark ruby red color. A one finger pink head forms, and in a second is gone. Not much lace.
S: Jammy like raspberries up front and center. Tannin like, with plenty of acidity. Sugary, fruity sweetness that rounds everything out.
T: Sweet, tangy, and acidic fruits that are jam like. Raspberries, obviously the focal point. Also a grape skin, almost tannin like character. The acidity builds and lingers as this warms.
M/D: A medium body and carbonation. Fairly crisp, and smooth. Again, tannin/fruit skin like (they are everywhere in this beer). Very easy to work through the bottle. The acidity never overpowers, and thankfully the alcohol is not very big here.
Certainly the best that Jester King has released since they switched to the all farmhouse stuff. Is it worth the price, effort to obtain, and hype? Maybe not. Though It is damn good. Well done.
