thanks to egrace 84 for sharing this jem!
poured into tulip glass.
Appearance: dark red with a slight hue of purple. A thick cap of white head that has a dark red tint to it.
Smell: Huge juicy raspberries. Moderately cheesy lacto funk. Hint of rubbery fink.
Taste: Mild sourness overall. Boatloads of freshand juicy raspberries. Mild cheesy / lacto funk and a hint of rubber. Pretty darn close to the aroma of the beer. I would say that the nose is much more intense than the flavor though.
Mouthfeel: light end of a medium bodied beer. Low carbonation levels. Slightly dry, but also watery at the same time; honestly a good balance between both those qualities.
Overall: This is a really awesome JK wild ale. It reminds me a bit of raspberry berlinner weisse beer like August Schells Fram Du Nord. This beer is definately a coolship beer and it was noticed in the feel of this beer.

500ml of Batch 3 that Mikey sent me. Thanks man! Poured into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass today, 3/11/2014.
App- Absolutely beautiful pink-red body with an equally stunning one-finger purple-pink head that retains quite well. Not much lacing. But the color is just great.
Smell- Chilled, this is a raspberry bomb. Really appealing for sure.. this is probably the best American raspberry beer I've ever smelled. As it warms up, a little bit of rubbery barnyard funk comes out, with a lot of acid. This is very good.
Flavour- A bit disappointing but still extremely good. Lots of fresh raspberry fruitiness mixed in with some vinegar acid, perhaps 5/10 sour, just enough to make it interesting. A small dab of rubbery funk, but there isn't a ton of funk overall, which would have really scored high with me since this is supposed to be a coolshipped sour beer. But hey, I won't complain too much- this is very tasty by any measure.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, not syrupy or watery at all, just about right. Good carbonation. Nice acetic, very dry finish that smacks of fresh raspberries.
Overall- Very good American raspberry sour. This is what I wish New Glarus Raspberry Tart was. I'd venture that Cantillon Rosé de Gambrinus is very similar, and Lou Pepe Framboise kills this 10 times out of 10. But still, this is the best American attempt at a raspberry sour, certainly in the neighborhood of Framboise for a Cure. I'm looking forward to drinking my Batch 1 in a few weeks & adding an addendum to this review.
