Was really looking forward to checking out Jester King's new taproom having heard such amazing things about it. When you first drive up it is really impressive. Huge barn/brewery on the left and a large pavilion off to the left, connected to the pizza shop. Walking up to the brewery it really strikes you how beautiful the setting really is. Lots of stone, trees and picnic tables scattered amongst them. All of this lends itself to making an incredible atmosphere to drink beers in. We grabbed a table in the shade and just enjoyed the natural environment. Some of the other people should really learn to control their kids as they were really hurting others enjoyment but we tried not to let that bother us to much. Quality was quite high. As I said earlier the space is amazing while the beers are served in nice wine glasses. Service was solid all around, the initial wait was a bit much since they didn't really have a defined line and people just kept walking past us to make their own. Selection was great, both in house and to go. I love that they post the menu's on their website so I could plan out a few of the beers I was looking to try. I didn't try the food as I was still full from my Franklin BBQ lunch, humble brag, so I didn't try the pizza but from what I saw it looked excellent. Prices were more than reasonable, both the drafts and bottles to go. Overall an absolutely amazing place to have a beer, especially theirs. I would love to have this place around me. I will definitely return the next time I am in Austin.

First let me admit I am a complete homer when it comes to Jester King. The service is usually good, but occasionally not the best. Selection varies depending on what they have on a particular weekend. If they have any of their fruited sours on, then the selection is perfect. Most importantly, I have yet to go to a brewery with a better setting than the farm Jester King is on. No matter what special release or event, you never feel crowded. Plenty of parking and there are some perfect Austin weather days that make this place magical.

This review encompasses many many visits.

Overall-

Vibe- The people who work here are f*cking awesome. They are all so nice, especially on a quiet friday evening.

Quality- Unbeatable. I like sours and saisons. This is the embodiment of what i try to accomplish with homebrewing. Its funky and wierd and not every bottle is perfect, but i love their beer

Service- Ok so this is their lowest score. They are bad at getting things done on a busy saturday, which is why i would never go at 2pm the weekend atrial rubicite comes out. Other than that, they rock

Selection- refer to quality. They dont always have amazing bottle selection, often just decent, but when its good its great

I feel their bottle says it all and anyone who doesnt like this place can shove off. They make what they like and its good. Its just like freaking Hill Farmstead though, dont show up at 2pm on a release saturday (or really any saturday at 2)

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Jester King Brewery in February 2015 while celebrating my soon to be brother-in-law's bachelor party in Austin, TX. My trek to Jester King involved a stop at Southwest Parkway Market, and an Uber drop off in JK's muddy parking lot with a 40lb box of top notch brews from SWPM and a huge smile warped from ear to ear. I approached the outdoor merch and bottles to go stand winded from my walk uphill, and a cheerful fella welcomed me with a ginormous smile on his face. I explained I was from PA, on a solo mission to conquer beer heaven as it is in Texas. The sign on the way in specifically said "No outside alcohol permitted," however, the gentleman gladly placed my box in a safe place whilst I consumed some of the best barrel aged beer in the world in the tasting room. My Texas experience was surreal in itself, but Jester King was a beer nerd's dream come true. Thanks for the awesome hospitality and warm and fuzzy feeling I got from being there.

Nice country location, large barn style room for drinking and pizza. The chandeliers in the barn and hanging from a few trees are a nice touch.

As good as advertised. On a farm far away from the hustle and bustle of Austin, one finds sours amongst, the best in the country. Did a large flight because I wasn't sure I would be back again. Servers seemed to really understand beer and were attentive to a geeks needs. Selection was great. The best beer experience I had in Texas at a brewery.
