Was really looking forward to checking out Jester King's new taproom having heard such amazing things about it. When you first drive up it is really impressive. Huge barn/brewery on the left and a large pavilion off to the left, connected to the pizza shop. Walking up to the brewery it really strikes you how beautiful the setting really is. Lots of stone, trees and picnic tables scattered amongst them. All of this lends itself to making an incredible atmosphere to drink beers in. We grabbed a table in the shade and just enjoyed the natural environment. Some of the other people should really learn to control their kids as they were really hurting others enjoyment but we tried not to let that bother us to much. Quality was quite high. As I said earlier the space is amazing while the beers are served in nice wine glasses. Service was solid all around, the initial wait was a bit much since they didn't really have a defined line and people just kept walking past us to make their own. Selection was great, both in house and to go. I love that they post the menu's on their website so I could plan out a few of the beers I was looking to try. I didn't try the food as I was still full from my Franklin BBQ lunch, humble brag, so I didn't try the pizza but from what I saw it looked excellent. Prices were more than reasonable, both the drafts and bottles to go. Overall an absolutely amazing place to have a beer, especially theirs. I would love to have this place around me. I will definitely return the next time I am in Austin.

When here on Sunday afternoon by myself. 8/24/14 didn't really know what to expect which was probably a good thing walking in with an open mind. Headed towards the main barn when out of the blue some girl comes running up to me to card me. She kindly explained the lay of the land which was helpful as it is pretty much a Texas prestige hillside with picnic tables placed randomly about and an odd tent off to the one side that is the "outdoor station". Proceeded to go into the main tasting area as I needed to use the restroom which was occupied so I had to go use a port a john. I realize they are building new bathroom facilities but a port a john in 100* Texas heat is what you'd think it is. After that went back into the tasting area and grabbed a small pour of la vie en rose and started a tab. No seating at the bar so I went outside to see if I could find a good conversation. Ending hanging out around the outdoor station until the 3pm tour started which was short but very cool. The staff is very friendly and if you go when it's slow they are more than welcome to strike up good beer conversations with ya. Prices are very reasonable, I think my tab was around $14 for four pours. My only gripe would be the lack of bathrooms and air conditioned seating areas. The all outdoor thing is cool but i would recommend going in any season other than the summer if you can.

This is one of my favorite breweries in the country. It has a winery like atmosphere. Outdoors, sometimes there is live music, booths to buy beer and merchandise. O ya, they also have some of the best sour beers in the world. If you are in Austin, Jester King is a must.
