Had on tap at Beer Co. in San Deigo.
Beer pours a nice dark brown color with a white cap.
Beer smells slightly of pine from the hops a bit roasty and chocolatey as well.
The taste starts off bitter and roasty. Hints of dark chocolate are present, followed by a hoppy, piney finish.
A bit too thin and carbonation present throughout.
Not a bad Black IPA

On tap at The Beer Company. Described as a Dark IPA.
A: Dark brown with a creamy beige cap.
S: Roast and nuttiness with a little chocolate and balancing hops in the form of pine, orange, and grapefruit. Smells nice.
T: Pronounced pine notes are balanced by roast and a touch of chocolate. The beer is lightly nutty and moderately bitter. Alcohol is tame. Notes of orange are evident.
M: Medium in body with upper moderate carbonation.
Overall: A well done Black IPA or whatever you want to call it. I would have ordered another if I wasn't busy drinking the Pale Ale and IPA.
