Here is a recent review I wrote on draft:

I had a bunch of these when it was on tap at the Amsterdam Ale House on Manhattan's Upper West Side. This was one of the better IPA's (particularly new IPA's) that I've had for a long time. Very in your face hoppiness but well balanced as well.

Pale/Orange color. Good carbonation that sticks around for a while and leaves a bit of lacing.

Aroma is citus/pine and very strong.

Flavor as well was so great. Perfect amount of bitterness but very well balanced at the same time.

Highly recommend if you can find it.

---

I would say the cask is at least as good as the draft. Maybe better. Great brewery.

Such a really solid IPA. One of my favorite, just a plus that is is brewed locally and I can get it on tap at almost any bar I go to. Full of hops, but also has a nice drinkability to it, I could drink it all night, and I have. Has a full citrusy burst, almost everything yo would expect from an IPA. West coasty style but most balanced. Highly recommend.

At the source in Athens. Stopped by with my girlfriend for lunch and had the Outrage. Very solid IPA. Plenty of hop flavor and decent mouth feel. Went well with the PEI mussels. They have done a lovely job rehabbing that old building. Kudos. Watching the Bills win was a real bonus.

The important thing has been hit a couple of times... This is a hop-forward and hop-ending beer. It's basically the same throughout, there's a big dose of hop-smell on the nose, the body is just enough to support the bitterness, and then you've got a long-lingering hop flavor on the tongue.

It's a little darker than I anticipated, but it's a nice golden in the 12oz glass.

If you like a west-coast IPA, this is a beer for you. If you don't, then stay away.

Comparable: Bridgeport Brewing's IPA was my immediate thought

But really, if you're going to be in or around Athens, NY, what else do you have to do but come drink the beer? Try this one, you know what you're getting and you won't be disappointed by it, it's fine enough for what it's doing.

A - Orange pour with a hearty beige foam. Plenty of sticky lacing on the pint glass. Cloudy look to the beer.

S - Pungent smell of hop resin. There are some spicy notes of pine and Christmas spice.

T - Flavors of light grains and spice finishes with a hearty bittering from a tar-like blast of hops. This beer shows how a high IBU on a standard IPA can be extremely bitter. A bit much for me actually.

M - Medium bodied beer with minimal carbonation. Finishing with a strong bitter bite makes this a beer only hop heads would go for a second.

O - Not bad, but it takes more than a one trick pony get me excited. For those who enjoy the lingering bitter taste in their mouth this is a decent beer.

From 01/12/13 notes. Had this on tap at Pony Bar on the UES in NYC, 14 oz. pour in a pint glass.

a - Pours a somewhat clear orange-amber color with one inch of bright white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of citrus hops, grapefruit, pine hops, fruity malts, resin, and some caramel malts. Lots of citrus and pine, I like it a lot.

t - Tastes of citrus hops, pine hops, grapefruit, tropical fruits, fruity malts, caramel malts, and some floral and earthy notes. Taste is super hoppy again and super bitter; quite nice.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Big bitter bite to it.

o - Overall a really nice DIPA. This one has a lot of pine and grapefruit hops to it, and a bitter bite in the mouthfeel. I liked it a lot and would definitely have it again.

I hate to trash a local beer but my Compadre and I dubbed this one the "lame but local" IPA and it is truly one of the worst IPA's I@ve tried in the past three years. No it's not Bud (if Bud was all I could get, I'd give up drinking entirely). But it tastes like a mediocre lager which is dry hopped to make it seem like an IPA. I'd be open to trying another of their beers but this one was a one legged Oscar Pistorious trying to win the 400 Meters (not happening).

On-tap at Mugs Alehouse, Brooklyn, NY

A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down and left lacing on the surface and a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are strong aromas of citrus and pine resin hops in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has a strong mélange of hoppy flavors but at the same time is well balanced with notes of caramel malts. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and goes down very smoothly. There’s a good amount of hop flavors but it also shares some similarities with the maltiness of an amber/red ale.

A - Pours a dark gold color with a generously creamy, one fingered head. Very bright and very clear.

S - Lots of vibrant grapefruit and pine. Malt takes the back seat and the aroma suggests this is a very hop forward beer.

T - No complexity at all, just a straightforward West Coast style IPA with a generous amount of resiny grapefruit and pine. The bitterness is a little oily and leaves a lingering resinous coating of grapefruit peel for several minutes.

M - Medium body and silky smooth carbonation.

O - I wish I could get this beer in PA, it's hop forward and "delivers the goods" for us lupulin lovers - a must try. The aroma is good but where this one really shines is the taste. Reminds me more of the West Coast, nicely done and I will be seeking this one out again next time I head to Albany.

S: Biscuit sweet bread, grapefruit/lemon citrus, crisp malt

T: Bitter green hops, some caramel malt complexity

M: Medium body, good carb

st: growler

overall: A very nice IPA, but a little too bitter for me. Reminds me of Green Flash West Coast IPA. I would fill my growler up with this again. I prefer the Black Rock Stout from X-Roads.

Poured from tap into pint glass at Terrapin in Rhinebeck, NY.
Pours a hazy-ish golden color. Nice head with great lacing.
Smells of fruity piney hops...really nice.
Taste is of fruity, piney, cotton candy hops. Mild in the hops bite, but full in flavor. I have wanted to try this for a while, and it was fantastic. Great east coast IPA - full of fruity flavor with just the correct amount of bite. Worth every sip of this brew. Fantastic.

A pint at the Dinosaur, Troy, NY on 2/8/12

Clear and golden with little head or lace. Piney hop aroma. Lively carbonation and medium body. Great balance between the hops and malt. Somewhere between and East coast and West coast IPA. Earthy hops with a bit of pine, contrasted with a slight caramel sweetness. Nice strong bitter finish.

A: Poured from the growler into a pint glass. Body is clear copper with a 1-finger ivory head. Leaves behind nice lace.

S: Not terribly strong in the nose - mainly piney hops over a touch of brown sugary malt.

T: First impression: reminds me of Sierra Nevada Celebration. Sprucey, piney, citrusy (grapefruity) hops over caramel malt - with a touch of toasted bread underneath as well. Nicely balanced - my wife the hophead thought it was too sweet, actually. Lingering dry bitterness at the back of the palate.

M: Good creaminess - carbonation is active - call it medium in heft.

O: Well done. My first Crossroads beer - it won't be my last.

A - Pours a rich clear copper-orange color with a finger of white head atop. The head fades slowly down to a spotty layer atop the beer leaving behind some nice lacing in the process.

S - Aroma is full of lots of fresh citrus and pine hop aromas. There is also enough malt in the background to provide some balance.

T - Starts off with some nice citrus hop flavor and some malty flavors in the background. Through the middle some bitterness as well as some piney hop flavor comes through. The finish is a mix of some nice hop flavor with some slight bitterness as well as some malt flavor that lingers nicely.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and crisp with very balanced mouthfeel. There is some nice light bitterness and sweet flavors but is also really clean.

D - Very drinkable. Really nice fresh hop profile that has a nice amount of bitterness. The hop and malt profile is really well balanced.

Thanks Brian for bringing this to share.
Review from written notes.

Into a small tulip glass it pours a saturated tropical sunset orange. A thin layer of white foam rests on top, leaving some spotty lace as it's sipped. Eventually the head recedes to a wispy skim.

Pungent leafy hop resin aroma.

Big grapefruit notes right off the bat, juicy and fresh. Lots of citrus with a mild hop bitterness. Slightly sweet with a balanced pale malt backbone. Green resiny hop bitterness builds after each sip. Light bodied and quite sessionable. The fresh, lush citrus flavor is the real standout feature of Outrage.
Glad I got to try this one, really enjoyed it!

32oz (half) growler from Oliver's in Albany. Pretty excited to try this IPA from just a little bit south of here.

Quite amber in color. Small head, minimal lacing.

Sweet pine flavors on the nose.

Taste is of pine and some citrus hop flavors, with a sweet, but not too sweet, malt backbone. Hops hit quick in flavor and it finishes dry and a bit malty.

Mouthfeel is medium, nothing unusual here.

A very decent East Coast IPA here. Always happy to see more upstate NY beers.

On tap for the first time at the Golden Rail Ale House in Newburgh. Awesome beer and fianlly got the brewery to bring in a few barrels.

Pours a nice clear amber with a decent layer of white head. This beer has hops in the front and hops in the back. There is definitely a citrus and floral aroma on the nose with a nice finish. This beer is definitely drinkable and with the numerous hops and dry hopping there is great balance and semi malty body. You will taste the pine at at the end with a nice biterness. I would definitely recommend this beer. Try it, Drink it, Love it. At 7%, you cant go wrong.

On tap at Press 195 (Park Slope, Brooklyn)

Appearance: Clear Amber, with a hazy white head. Light lacing.

Aroma: Citrusy and Floral sweetness

Taste: Initially sweet up front. Turns to a pleasant grapefruit bitterness that hangs around for a while. The finishing taste is similar to orange peel.

Overall I really liked this this beer. I specifically went to Press 195 to have a pint. It's a really drinkable ipa and coming in at 7% that makes this a bit dangerous.

Shitty day at work at a growler of Outrage IPA waiting for me in the fridge...into my Crossroads pint glass.

A: Super clear beer. Lots of clarity. Copper color with some amber highlights. A quarter finger of white head with some lacing.

S: This is one of those beers that the hops fade super quick. I actually can notice the difference between the taste I had at the brewery and the growler now. Little grapefruit. Citrus. Piney. Lemongrass. The malt is also super crisp and fresh smelling. The nose is everything you are looking for in an IPA.

T: While the hops are there in spades I am more impressed with the fact that there is a complexity of malt here as well. The taste is fairly close to a celebration ale in a lot of ways. Little caramel malt in there as well. Really nice complexity. Finish is nice with some lingering bitterness.

M: Medium body. Carbonation is nice. Medium body.

D: The whole time I was drawing a comparison to Celabration. Really nice beer overall. I hope this will be a nice beer and the local community will latch on to it. The brewery is in a wonderful place and the people are super nice. Really nice IPA. If I had to tweak anything I would want it a little drier but I like my IPAs that way.

Pours a clear copper color with a decent amount of off white head that leaves some sticky lacking as it fades.

Aroma is filled with fresh piney and grassy hops. There's also a noticeable caramel malt background.

Taste is lots of grass and pine tar balanced out nicely by some sweet malts. It's very crisp and refreshing and finishes with some dry grassy hops.

It's pretty light in body with moderate carbonation. Overall, a very drinkable and refreshing IPA. Although I prefer a citrusy IPA, I am really enjoying this one.

On tap at the Dutch Ale House, Saugerties, NY.

Pours a lively amber with a thin white film. Skunky nose. Caramel malts, a catty old ale tang, and resin hops that give a Rooibos bite. Stinging linger. Medium, chewy, sticky.

Great interplay of sour citrus, fruit and bark hops. Brings both the IBUs and the hop flavor. Give it a couple of years and it with rank with Flower Power and Unearthly among great NY IPAs.

A classic in the making.

Nice to see a new local brewer and a local bar supporting them. Keep it up!

Note: Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo and Citra according to the brewery.

on tap at my local spot, poured into a pint glass

a: light carmel/amber color. nice sticky 1/2" head with good retention. Reduzes nicely into lacing. Lacing rings the glass with each gulp.

s: grapefruit, bitter orange, caramel

t: nice caramel malt backbone gives way to cutting citrus bitterness boasting with grapefruit, orange and slight pine. Excellent!!!

m&d: medium bodied, drying mouth from the hops. Drinkable, but not really sessionable.

Glad to see another upstart brewer in this area to give the status quo on the run.
